“If any member of the public is shot with one of these guns or, heaven forbid, a cop is shot with one these guns, what would be the explanation?”
What the.. ?
HUH ?
I’m just going to pretend I didn’t even read this, gawd...
To: WOBBLY BOB
no way man, that could be called an assault weapon... you could easily make the stock foldable and the flash suppressor/muzzle brake? that’s a big no no !
To: R_Kangel
I trained with the Kimber Arms LAPD SWAT version built on a tight 1911 frame.”
Does that make it basically a 1911?

They always keep the focus on the gun. Never people.
Like guns have special magical powers, in a society that officially does not believe in magic.
If a gun is used in a crime, it is ritually killed, when the perp walks in a few years.
So this design is “implicated” in numerous killings, when the people holding the magical guns are those who walk deliberately into very dangerous situations. Some evil force has permeated the very mainspring of this gun, and if civilians get them, they too will be forced to kill.
I think we need an official gun exorcism ceremony to make the antis feel better about these supernatural emanations from machined steel.

The Kimber is very smooth to fire and easy to control. I would imagine the weight
of this model "Steel" could counter balance the recoil, but I see no
difference from the Standard Kimber. Accept for the polished actions,
which is achievable in any firearm. Overall, a damn fine weapon thats overpriced. IMO.

LAPD's Special Investigation Section, an elite group of plainclothes
detectives with a history of fatally shooting suspects.
IIRC, this is the group that occassionally tails suspect criminals
(armed theft, bank robbers).
I think a couple of the unit were in place when a small armed theft
gang held up a store in the San Fernando Valley...and that was
the end of that gang (ventilated with plenty of in-and-out bullet holes).
Hearing about some thugs getting their own medicine from the
good guys: "PRICELESS!"

"Its not like this gun is any better than any other 1911 model. It just has a dorky SIS pattern at the front and back of the slide."I don't dispute the quality of Kimbers pistols. I've got one or two of them in my own harem, but it does seem silly sometimes how gun companies sell guns like they are cars anymore.
I personally value skill more than designer guns or all the gadgets and lingerie people buy for them. I'd rather be someone who is genuinely skilled with a Ruger P90 than some poseur with a Wilson Combat Super Grade. I've seen plenty of both.

"Does that make it basically a 1911?"Pretty much so in the design end, however it is much tighter in the construction and a few mods that make it more user friendly. For instance the grip safety and Its extended base enabled you to rest the thumb of your shooting hand on top of the manual safety lever otherwise you might inadvertently apply the slim speed safety during firing. The construction of the weapon is slightly different than the basic 1911 .45 but I found the functionality better and it was more accurate and practical than the original design.

It's just another 1911 pattern pistol in .45Auto. What's the big deal? Kimber makes a good product. So so many other companies. This is more a reflection of the illiteracy and incompetence of a loud mouth politician than anything of substance.

I know you can make a 1911 tight and very accurate with the right aftermarket parts, but I guess at the price of a genuine 1911 and the cost of converting it it would be easier to buy the Kimber.
What do you think of Desert Eagle? .45 .40

I also agree. It must be a slow news day for the gun grabbers. They are making a mountain out of nothing. Smoke and mirrors!!!!!
This pistol isn't any more deadly than 10 million others.
It's a crock from the word go.

"If any member of the public is shot with one of these guns or, heaven forbid, a cop is shot with one these guns, what would be the explanation?" Depends on whether they needed shooting. But assuming they did not, I guess you'd prefer they would be shot with a stolen WW-I era, but functionally the same, version firing the exact same ammunition?

What is more disturbing is that an elected official is such a political ignoramus that he fails to recognize the importance of the second Amendment.
Or is it that the leftists are TOO wise and remember that phrase in the Declaration of Independence about the “right” of the people to abolish a government which abuses their basic human rights?
Considering where government is going in America, I think it the latter.

“that has a history of fatal shootings.”...?
A safe gun will not have a history of fatal shootings.
To: ThomasThomas
A safe gun will not have a history of fatal shootings.I bought my kid one of those fer Christmas. It fires a 1/2" diameter slug that's more than 2 1/2 inches long!
Oh, and the coolest part of all: it's bright yellow and has the name "NERF" emblazoned on both sides.
