Why neither John McCain nor Mike Huckabee can possibly be our choice
The Collins Report ^ | Jan. 17, 2008 | John F. Allen

Posted on 01/18/2008 3:56:25 AM PST by jmaroneps37

As conservatives our choice for president has to be Fred Thompson. But this is only half of the equation. Both McCain and Huckabee are both very suspect on the issue of illegal aliens. Here are some very sobering facts about the damage we have already suffered from our de facto open borders policy.

Nearly One Million Sex Crimes have been committed by illegal immigrants in the United States. http://www.drdsk.com/

Illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that’s two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US.

3 million dollars a day are spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.

90 billion dollars a year are spent on illegal aliens for welfare & social services by the American taxpayers. 200 billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.

12 billion dollars a year [on] school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English! 17 billion a year.. for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

During .. 2005 … 4 to 10 million illegals [snuck in as many as] 19,500… from Terrorist Countries [bringing] millions of pounds of drugs ….The National Policy Institute estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between 206 and 230 billion dollars or an average cost of between 41 and 46 billion dollars annually over a five year period.

http://.nationalpolicyinstitute.org/publications.php?=deportation

2.2 billion dollars a year are spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens. 2.5 billion dollars a year are spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens

McCain and Huckabee? I would rather see hillary! elected.

Yes, all three will do serious damage to this country. The beast will do it in the name of Democrats, and that is to be expected. Queeg and the little SOS will do it in the name of the GOP and that is absolutely unacceptable.

If Queeg or SOS are anywhere on the GOP ticket I will write in Fred.

Your suppositions are ridiculous. We need Fred as a conservative in the race. The lower his vote totals are the more people will push him to drop out. It is frustrating to see Huckabee get even one vote. It frustrates good people. It isn’t worth it.

McCain will not be the nominee, so your scenario holds no water. We need to vote for the person who is conservative, who should be the nominee. The more things are mixed up, the less likely someone will look like they are inevitable. Makes it more difficult to push people to quit their campaign.

You do more to hurt FDT than to help him.

People can make up their own minds. You don’t need to be doing this. There is nothing to be gained, or to help, by doing what you suggest.

South Carolina please remember McCain/Kennedy and how mad you were at Lindsay Graham, co-sponsor of that amnesty bill. How short a memory must you have. If you like illegal immigrants, you’ll LOVE McCain and Huckabee. Vote Fred or Mitt if you want secure borders and illegals sent home where they belong.

FYI

Mike Huckabee yesterday signed the Americans for Better Immigration “No Amnesty” pledge. Roy Beck, executive director of NumbersUSA and president of Americans for Better Immigration, said in a press release “Every candidate claims to oppose amnesty, but few define amnesty the way most Americans do. I applaud Gov. Huckabee for defining amnesty correctly, and for pledging to fully enforce laws that would take away the jobs and benefits magnets that draw illegal aliens here - and that keep them here.”

Personally, I think The Huckster is a LIAR. He will just say that penalties and making the folks go back home IS NOT AMNESTY!!
*******************
Huckabee is the Ultimate Flim Flam Man! He is a liar, a charade, a present-day Elmer Gantry.

We only need 41 votes in the Senate to stop the Dims or a Dim President from enacting anything major

Assuming 100% vote in lockstep.

I've been leaning toward the same idea.

I may be proved wrong tomorrow night but here goes. McCain's lead can be traced to one thing, high expectations of a Dem crossover vote like in 2000. This year Dems have made no such calls, and can't afford it after what happened in NH. They have few votes to burn unlike previous years. A SC win is also very important to Hill or Obama. I've putting it all on the table for Fred or Romney. Of course I care about as much for Huckabee as I do for Ron Paul.

Read more carefully. I said 41 votes, but didn’t mention how many pubbies (or Dims, for that matter). Only votes.

I guess the Conservative Movement is not as strong as it once was. I think it's time for someone to spearhead organizing THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF AMERICA.

We need to keep Fred alive until both Huckabee and McCain show they have no more momentum and begin to fall. Most of us have reasoned it out and know they have limited upside potential and serious problems ahead.

At this point, whether or not McCain takes first in SC is not as important as keeping Fred, our conservative, alive.

Remember....SC is not winner takes all.

Two more liberal slots on SCOTUS for the rest of our lives. It makes me cringe.

George H. W. Bush gave us the very liberal Justice Souter. We know that Mitt Romney has a history of nominating Democratic Judges in MA.

Fred is the man to choose. This thing needs to go to a brokered convention, where we will hopefully get the real conservative nominated.
