'They should hang him - my daughter and grandchild died'
A white teenage boy told his mother he "snapped" just before he was arrested by police for opening fire on a South African squatter camp, killing a baby, a young boy, and two adults.
"Mom, something just snapped inside me," 18-year-old Johan Nel reportedly told his mother Corrie just before he was arrested by South African police for the incident.
Nel allegedly shouted the derogatory term "kaffir, kaffir, kaffir" as he began shooting his .303 rifle at the Swartruggens camp, 100 miles west of Johannesburg.
His victims included a three-month-old baby, a 10-year-old boy, a 30-year-old man, and a woman who died 24 hours later in hospital. A further seven people suffered gunshot wounds, three seriously.
Jacobs said the suspect entered the squatter camp near Swartruggens in North West province and "started randomly shooting".
Moses Clifton, 68, told South African news website iAfrica how his daughter and grandchild were shot dead 20 metres outside his home.
The grandfather was at a neighbour's house when he heard gunshots.
"The child and the mother ran out of the house and the boy walked down the road and shot them," he is quoted as saying. "I hid behind the house with my back against the wall and I heard him reloading his gun. I stayed at the corner watching and then I saw the mother and the child dead in the road.
"I was at court this morning to see this man. My heart is breaking. My child and my grandchild died."
He said the killer parked his bakkie at the settlement's spaza shop and proceeded to run down the dusty street "just shooting".
"Hy moet hang (He must hang)," he said when asked what the accused's fate should be.
Johanna Fafaya (49), a neighbour, said she had been working in the veld when she heard gunshots.
"When I got here I saw two people lying dead."
Fafaya said she returned to the settlement despite being told by fleeing residents that there was a man shooting people.
"I was so scared. I was trying to find my son but he had already run away."
Fafaya said the shooter ran through the streets before turning into the veld towards town, leaving his bakkie behind.
"He even shot an ostrich in the veld," he said.
Police launched a manhunt leading to the arrest of the suspect, who had his father's gun in his possession. The father was taken into custody for the illegal possession of a firearm, said Jacobs.
Nearly 100 people chanted, "Kill the Boer, kill the farmer," outside Swartruggens Magistrates' Court today as Nel was charged with murder and attempted murder.
"If you knew him, you would know that he did not act rationally," Mrs Nel is quoted as saying on South African news websites.
She said he had been attacked in 2003 "by a black man with a sickle", after which he shot at the man.
Seven years ago, she said, he was traumatised by an attack on his brother on their farm. Last Sunday, he had heard about an incident in which burglars had apparently pumped gas into the room where a friend's wife and her baby were.
On Monday, he heard of another attack on a farm in the family's area - and on Tuesday, according to police, he walked into the camp and opened fire.
Race is a sensitive subject in a country scarred by decades of white minority rule.
However a resident of Swartruggens said some residents felt that "a thing was being made over the fact that we are a racist community, but there is no racism here.
"On the contrary, the farmers have given police their full cooperate in helping to find the suspect."
Nel has appeared in Swartruggens court today on charges of murder and attempted murder.
I thought the media didn’t identify the race of suspects anymore.
I certainly can’t recall ever seeing race identified so prominently as this before.
The word “kaffir” with its full connotation comes from the Muslims, of course.
The race-based killings will increase: it is like a madness that feeds on itself.
I would strongly suggest, as if my suggestion carried any weight in South Africa - that all whites leave. Go to Europe - go to the U.S.A. All must flee in the face of crazed, naked agression.

Apparently the first white explorers in Africa heard the Muslims refer to the Africans as kuffaar & may have thought it was a racial term.
I think a sneeze in Milwaukee becomes a tornado in Johannesburg, or some such thing.

Kafir, an Islamic term usually translated as unbeliever similar to the christian word Pagan or Jewish word gentile.
Seems to me i remember a movie ( wild geese?) starring roger moore, richard burton..ect. where a group of mercenary types went to africa to free a black dude of some sort and one of the team members kept calling the guy a Kef-fer...at least thats what i remember anyway.
At any rate the perp should be punished as harshly as possible IMHO.
Remember how the media staunchly refused to identify the race or religion of the Paris rioters?

I’m sure many white South Africans would leave but most “white” countries make it as difficult as possible. They would rather bring in more muslims and “youths”.

Being in a South African jail while white for any offense or no offense is punishment enough. I guarantee this kid will wish he killed himself before being arrested.

This is typical anti white propaganda from the liberal media. I’m surprised they mentioned that the kid’s mother had been victimized by blacks repeatedly in the past.
We do not need any more illegal aliens in the USA.
The black crime war against the white South Africans is never mentioned by the media. Still, this incident is horrible thing.
As do I, he is a baby killer and should be executed since he did not have the courtesy to kill himself.
That’ll be the day. The government is more interested in giving amnesty to millions of illiterate illegals.
