One day after a disappointing second place finish in South Carolina, Mike Huckabee got back in the saddle Sunday to party at the ranch of action movie icon Chuck Norris, and repeated a claim by his campaign chairman that Fred Thompson was his biggest barrier to defeating John McCain in the Palmetto State.
Huckabee came a close second to McCain in the seven-man Republican presidential line-up, 33-30 percent. But Thompson took third place with 16 percent, and exit polls showed many of Huckabees and Thompsons supporters shared the same priorities on issues like values, immigration and taxes.
We obviously wanted and we honestly thought we would win. The fact of Fred Thompsons being in the race took away some votes that we most likely had. I believe every analyst has looked at it that way, Huckabee said. The snow pretty much not only froze the streets of the Greenville-Spartanburg area, but the votes came to a stop when it started snowing. That was an area where we had really looked forward to get a heavy and significant vote margin.

Thats because Huck wants to be McCains running mate. A match made in RINO hell.

The only thing worse would be a third party ticket with these two bozos on it.
Then again, one or the other could hook up with Hillary as her VP. Both Huckabee and McCain to have a real mean spirted streak in them.
Huh? By letting Huckster get more support? I don't think so.
ME TOO!
I'm getting tired of the Repubs trotting RINOS out and sitting back and letting any real conservatives rot. I hate to pull out and think of the Dems winning... but if the liberal Republicans win, they can pin the blame on the republicans for all his bad decisions. So.. at least if the dems have their loser in office, they can't do that as easily. (wow what a bright spot...) :-(
Way more
You know, the weird thing is, Paul (for as unimpressive as he was in the debate) didn't come off as isolationist as I thought he was. It was kinda strange.
I've looked at the CP too.
Yup. I think as a pastor who thinks another GIANT EGO pastor is cool, that was inevitable.
Now ol huck is sounding very ‘bill clinton like’!!!
Is the ‘vast right wing conspiracy’ at it again....
Huck seems to be good at reinterpreting these kinds of things to suit himself.
If Ron Paul’s foreign policy wasn’t so screwed up he’d be a great candidate.
He’s the only one talking about eliminating the department of education!
LOL, in that pic he’s telling Huckabee “I wan’t you to give away this much of America’s money when you become prez...to raise hope of course”
well that sorta kills that evangelical as a herd vote for Huckster tripe talk doesn’t it?
Queeg got almost as many as Huckster did
OH man!!! And Thompson's response as you retold it there sounds incredibly classy (SERIOUSLY).
sageb1 asked whether anyone from the SC Thompson campaign had seen any 'flyers' that were put on cars by Huckster campaigners? Know anything about that?
If the GOP is veering leftward it is because we allow it to.
They aren’t really getting the 06 message yet, from what I see, but they have spun those events a bit differently.
It will take a sea change in which they finally understand that the GOP survival itself is imperiled to get back along with our values.
I hope that they do before 2012 because I believe 08 will be a disaster in all races
If they ever get it. - If not, they are the new Whigs.
No Huckster, its YOUR fault YOU lost. Your positions, pro-life and pro-gun notwithstanding, are not Republican positions... Its of the Democratic Party......
ROFL!!!
I have quite a few evangelical Christians I don’t like (and I am one too). The MSM fawns over and has made very prominent the evangelicals that preach little to NO Biblical truth.
I really do not want to hear this whine.
vaudine
I would love someone to post a scan of those flyers.
As far as ego, see my post on ego above at 66. There are now LOTS of pastors like this thanks to HIM.
Yeah what's with them the last couple years???!!
Well Rupert Murdoch isn't all that interested in conservatism himself, I doubt -- he's just interested in cornering the market. Eventually his philosophies are going to seep through/trickle down. Maybe he ought to get rid of his porn empire for starters if he really wants to be conservative.
