WSJ Editorial: Obama's Clinton Education
The Wall Street Journal ^ | January 23, 2008 | Editorial

The Illinois Senator is realizing that the Clintons will say or do anything to win.

One of our favorite Bill Clinton anecdotes involves a confrontation he had with Bob Dole in the Oval Office after the 1996 election. Mr. Dole protested Mr. Clinton's attack ads claiming the Republican wanted to harm Medicare, but the President merely smiled that Bubba grin and said, "You gotta do what you gotta do."

We're reminded of that story listening to Barack Obama protest his treatment by the now ex-President Clinton on behalf of his wanna-be-President wife. "You know the former President, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling," Mr. Obama told a TV interviewer. "He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts -- whether it's about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas."

Now he knows how the rest of us feel.

The Illinois Senator is still a young man, but not so young as to have missed the 1990s. He nonetheless seems to be awakening slowly to what everyone else already knows about the Clintons, which is that they will say and do whatever they "gotta" say or do to win.

The Illinois Senator is realizing that the Clintons will say or do anything to win.

The failure of the intelligentia, the media, the clergy, all those supposed protectors of social values, to condemn the Clintons' corrosive moral relativism, their blatant lust for power, and their injurious effect on the American polity speaks to the decadence of these self-same cultural elites.

If he wanted to, Obama could really lay into Hillary. I saw the part of the debate where she claimed he’d said that the GOP had “better ideas,” when in fact he’d merely said it had been “the party of ideas,” which it was. He tried to point out this wasn’t accurate, but then got slammed with the charge of doing dirty work for slumlords.

Obama should have said something like this: “America, take notice. Hillary Clinton is trying to deceive you, trying to trick you, trying to pull the wool over yours eyes. The pair of them do it all the time. They have it down to a science. They distort something someone has said, then they attack the distortion. It is all part of the Clintons’ scheme to fool the American public and get back into the White House.

“I say [loudly], ‘NO MORE! NO MORE OF THIS!’ If Hillary Clinton can’t be honest with you, she doesn’t deserve to be president. She doesn’t even deserve to be dog catcher.”

well, Obama really wants to live

He does have the protection of the Secret Service.

But the reality for us anti-Clinton veterans,
is that we know we are asking of Obama,
what no Republican could ever do.

Beat A Clinton in a National Election.

I must say how distasteful I find President Clinton’s campaign tactics. This is no way for a former president to act. The two of them are so crude.

The Clintons are dirtbags plain and simple.
That says a lot about the Dems as a whole.
If these grifters get back in to the White House you have to know they will be terrible.
Little more then a criminal organization.

“Little more then a criminal organization.´”

From what I understand Hope, Arkansas once was a major center for organized crime in the USA. One wonders if it is still the case.

Obama is misguided,Hill and John are proven wrong, sinister AND dangerous.

Ergo, any white Democrats who do NOT vote for Obama prove the fact that they are and always have been, craven two-faced rascists!

Agree or disagree, the GOP would be foolish not to promulgate this message.

I don’t understand why no one asks Hillary this question:

Senator Clinton - You talk about experience, please show us how you’ve learned from it. Presidential pardons are one of the absolute powers granted the president, and one used most sparingly until your husbands final days in office.
If elected,How will you handle presidential pardons in your last days in office ?

“This is no way for a former president to act. “

It is when he is campaigning for a 3rd term, unfortunately.

"This is no way for a former president to act. The two of them are so crude."

They never knew how to behave when in office either.

They are quintessential low rent, cheap jack, white trash and will be an oderous and odious blot on the body politic until the Grim Reaper does his work.

Obama needs to drop out and have his wife run so that the debates with Hillary can be on a “level playing field.”

Look. I'm not the one whose brother needed a Presidential pardon. I'm not the one whose partners and business associates died in prison or just died. They claim I'm bought and paid for by some of my contributers but I didn't make $100,000 in Commodities. Because, let's be clear, I don't take bribes. I cannot be bought. And I resent the implication that I can be bought two of the smarmiest people ever to appear on the national stage.

Hey Obama! Maybe you should have taken some time in the 90’s and met with another legislator form Illinois; Rep Henry Hyde.

He could have briefed you then what you would face now.
