Duncan Hunter Endorses Mike Huckabee
National Review Online ^ | 1-23-08 | Byron York

Posted on 01/23/2008 12:29:02 PM PST by TitansAFC

This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:

"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of America‚s industrial base."

"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

Politics is the only game in town for adults.

But you have to develop a sense of black humor to begin to enjoy it.

LOL I know, I am about ready to tune it all out. Looks like it isn’t going to matter a whole hell of a lot.

We are going to end up with a socialist like Clinton or Huck or whoever......

yeah, life is easier just being a run of the mill sheeple who knows nothing and votes for anyone by party or else stays home and doesn’t trouble themselves over it.

Jim Robinson endorsed Huckabee. So what?

Huckabee and Romney are the only candidates running with somewhat conservative credentials.

I don;t care which one it is as long as that rat McCain doesn;t get it.

Personally I think Romney has a better shot. But I’d support Huckabee or Romney or even JulieAnnie to keep that Democrap pandering media strumpet McCain off the ticket and any of the other alternatives are better than her Thigness or Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

Hillary will be not be better on illegal immigration and worse on abortion. So I don’t undertsand your logic regarding how Hillary would be preferable to Huckabee.

I recall a transcript from Hannity and Colmes from about a month ago and she mentioned Duncan Hunter as her 1st choice...twice in one segment.

He wants us OUT of the UN. I think I read that EVERY year he puts forth a bill to get us out of it.

I signed one of Paul's petitions a couple of years ago.

When and where did Jim Rob endorse Huckabee?

Only endorsement I’ve seen has been for Fred, but I haven’t heard what he was thinking after Fred withdrew.

Ah, AuntB, I found you. We had this “conversation” a couple of days ago. You said I was lying. It didn’t even take him 2 weeks to endorse! Eat your words:

“”Duncan Hunter said on Fox TV today that he is considering throwing his endorsement to either the Huckster or McQueeg. Got that? Huckabee or McCain is where Duncan’s endorsement is going. He says he will decide which in about 2 weeks (in other words, right before or after the Feb. 5th primaries).”

That is not even remotely close to what Hunter said. He endorsed no one or hinted at no one. The guy is gone and you’re still lying about him. Absolutely amazing.”

This thread is starting to make me see sick. Anyhow, one final note on Brett Doster. He's against embryonic stem cell research.

All the state legislators should be paying attention to recent news that has showed groundbreaking research in those therapies and cures related to adult stem cells," said Brett Doster, director of Citizens for Science and Ethics, which opposes embryonic stem cell research. "It's foolish to head down that road (of embryonic stem cells) when science is showing us we need to focus on those cures and therapies that work now."

“KNOW that this is a man of integrity.”

Yes, Hunter is. Right or wrong, he did what he thought was right.

Actually, all of the remaining candidates are very bad. Who should he have endorsed?
