Duncan Hunter Endorses Mike Huckabee
National Review Online ^ | 1-23-08 | Byron York

Posted on 01/23/2008 12:29:02 PM PST by TitansAFC

This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:

"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of America‚s industrial base."

"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

“constructing the border fence”

I’m starting to doubt the feasibility of the border fence after I saw what a number the Palis did on the Gaza fence.

What makes anyone think the drug cartels in Mexico couldn’t do the same thing to a US/Mexico fence?

I said Hilary would be better? I think you misread my post or my head was exploding at the time. Hilary is terrible and Huckabee imo is a panderer. He gave me that impression. I don’t want Hil or Huck.

You should be paranoid with all this. I heard Hunter talk about a corporation which had ties to a ME group, maybe Hamas, and this involved the mfg. of sensitive material and parts for weapons. You know that globalists care only for money and power—they have no allegiance to any country. More reason we should not be involved with the governments nor businesses of countries all over the map.

But the real story was that Hunter was also a big nanny stater, loves pork spending and against free trade. [...]They think alike on many issues.

Can you say CFR?

If Mitt picked Jeb, I’d withdraw my support.

Over 1500 posts, and this thread doesn’t even have the word ‘Evolution’ in it’s title? Go figure ...

Hunter for the primary....he’s still on the ballot. May write him in on the general, but by then it won’t matter as we’ll be stuck with the choice between a LIEberal, gun-grabbing, pro-amnesty RINO and a communist, gun-grabbing, pro-amnesty DUmocrat, so my vote is a wash anyway.

It won't matter much at all in the end. :(

We are going to end up with a socialist like Clinton or Huck or whoever......

Oh Lordy have mercy.

yeah, life is easier just being a run of the mill sheeple who knows nothing and votes for anyone by party or else stays home and doesn’t trouble themselves over it.

simpler times. Aw hell, I'm not ready to toss in the towel yet....yet.

Yeah, but I added twilight zone to the keywords. Outer Limits would also fit.

The Hollywood writers should be afraid, very afraid.  You can't write a script better than this. Full gainer with a half twist!

Not worth beating this to death. I originally said even Huckabee would be better on the abortion issue alone and then you bring up immigration. So this is wandering all over the place. My point is any Republican candidate is preferable to Hillary on the abortion issue alone. I don’t want either of them and will vote for Mitt Feb 5.

I’m going to vote against the Dems, no matter what. They are for caving to the terrorists, and putting soldiers in jail instead.
