Duncan Hunter Endorses Mike Huckabee
National Review Online ^ | 1-23-08 | Byron York

Posted on 01/23/2008 12:29:02 PM PST by TitansAFC

This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:

"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of America‚s industrial base."

"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

Read your new tag line. It might explain why you believe what you do.

Are you referring to my dislike for Huckabee as a Republican candidate? It's not a result of any lies that I may have heard. I have looked at his record, listened to him in all the debates, and got a glimpse of his character with the "I'm not going to show the add" yet he then shows it to the media and acts all innocent.

If you know his record and like what he stands for, then you should vote for him. He is way too populist for me.

Someone said he was disgusted with Romney because of some deal one of Romney’s enterprises made with the Chinese who made things that were used to kill our troops in Iraq. I read this on the “Farwell to Fred and Romney” thread toward the beginning. Don’t know if it’s true...

Huckaee or McCain as the nominee mean people will sit the election out. They’re unacceptable.

To me as well.

Calm down...not a coward, just don’t know how to do the whole ping-thing.

Sorry....It just ticks me off when freepers talk about another freeper without pinging the subject.

In the TO line, just add <;pissant> or <;nothingnew> without the carrots.

You already said Romney is acceptable, so how far left will you go to “vote against the Dems”? McCain? Roody? Paul?

“No matter what”, I am done with voting for DUmocrats with an “R” next to their name.

“***Crickets. They often accompany RINOs.”

Does that mean that if we can not write in a vote, we will be voting for the crickets?

guess Dunc went for the only social conservative
***That’s how it looks like it’s shaping up to me. Maybe it comes down to simple questions like, “why did you go into politics in the first place?” If you have the same starting premise, you can find common cause. I would see no common cause with tootyfruityrudy.

Actions speak louder than words. And the crickets will be loud on this upcoming election.

Exactly - unless you count Alan Keys who has been more of a joke then a serious candidate this election cycle.

“Actions speak louder than words. And the crickets will be loud on this upcoming election.”

That does it for me. I will either write in Hunter, if I am allowed by law, or I am voting for the crickets.
