Giuliani tells Sarasota he can beat Clinton and Obama

SARASOTA - In a final push to prove Florida is "Rudy country" before the state's GOP primary on Tuesday, Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani told an audience of more than 400 people at Ritz-Carlton that he is the only candidate that can beat Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

"I believe you are going to vote for me," Giuliani said at the the Lincoln Day Dinner for the Republican Party of Sarasota County. "And if you do vote for me and I am the nominee, I'm the Republican that can win in November."

Although Giuliani has yet to come close to winning a statewide contest so far and a new poll this week showed him trailing third in Florida, Giuliani said he has enough support in all 50 states to win the White House and strengthen the Republican power in Washington, D.C.

"One of the main reasons you should make me your candidate is that I can create a 50 state race," Giuliani said. "We will win the presidency and we will give ourselves a fighting chance of winning back the House and the Senate.

But presidential hopefuls McCain, Romney and Huckabee are also campaigning hard throughout the state.

Rudy the conservative? (Bill McCollum, FL AG for Giuliani)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1960202/posts

When political experts break down the GOP primary election in Florida, they often talk about whether conservative voters will break for Mike Huckabee, John McCain or Mitt Romney.

But Bill McCollum, Florida’s Attorney General and a staunch conservative, said they should be also talking about Rudy Giuliani.

Though Giuliani is more moderate on social issues like abortion, “any other way he’s very conservative.” McCollum said his efforts to clean up New York City and his fiscal policies - namely cutting taxes and spending - are very much from conservative thinking.

If he wasn’t McCollum said he wouldn’t be pounding the pavement for Giuliani as he was on St. Armand’s Circle this morning where Giuliani was addressing a crowd of supporters.

McCollum is an anti-abortion Christian conservative who, while in Congress fought to keep an anti-abortion plank in the GOP platform and led the effort to impeach President Clinton in the 1990s.

Not only will conservatives NOT vote for this turd, he'll lose the libertarian and independent vote as well. Record low voter turnout will automatically favor Hillary.

And before you smarmy FReepers talk that "Hillary thanks you for staying home" crap - (Cue scene of Tommy Lee Jones from "The Fugitive" before Harrison Ford jumps into the river) "I DON'T CARE!"
