The election results for the Florida primary have proven that it is possible for Republicans to win the Hispanic vote. John McCain has shown that the way forward is by offering reasonable immigration reform including a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
It is absolutely crucial that we as Republicans secure the votes of Hispanics. They are the fastest growing segment of the American population and to allow the Democrats to win them over would be a disaster for our party.
It is therefore imperative that we as Republicans do our utmost to reach out to the Latino community by continuing John McCain's success at convincing Hispanic voters that our party best serves their interests. Reasonable immigration reform is key to doing that.
Republicans also need to distance themselves from the extremist anti-immigrant/ anti-Hispanic fringe that continues to thwart our attempts at connecting with Latino voters.
If Republicans are able and willing to implement the above strategy, we will secure our party's success for decades to come.

Yeah, somebody down in FL told me just last week, he went to vote GOP in a library, and that ballots were offered there in both English and en Espanol - then they got to vote, same day.

...reasonable immigration reform including a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants
You obviously haven't actually talked to any illegal immigrants. THEY DON'T WANT CITIZENSHIP! They want to work here for about 5 years and then go home and live like kings.
Giving them amnesty will do nothing for them or for us. The only reason they are doing the "jobs Americans won't do" is because they're being paid LESS than minimum wage to do them. If they were given amnesty, they lose their advantage in the marketplace, and a NEW batch of illegals will have to be brought in, while the old illegals will have to go on welfare (more so than they already are).
If McCain is the best the Republicans can do, maybe it's time for the Republicans to cease to be.

No, I’m not. As I stated above, McCain has proven that reaching out to the Hispanic community through proposals of reasonable and fair immigration reform leads to electoral success.

Applicants would be required to pay a fine so it would not be amnesty.

Illegal aliens are criminals
They are not American citizens
They are in our country illegally
They are not allowed to vote in our elections
The Republican Party has no need for criminals
