Yeah, but it’s the first shot fired in a new nanny state endeavor. You watch. Similar laws will start popping up all over, and sooner or later they will start passing. Just like the anti smoking laws.

Yes, the BMI calculators are woefully inadequate on paper. Any male that has a naturally large frame and builds a lot of muscle mass is going to be indicated as obese. A 5’10” male is supposed to weigh 150 pounds! Yeah, maybe in 11th grade.

Republican: “did you pass the obesity back ground check for that cheeseburger?”

Democrat: “did you pay your red meat tax? did you pay your consumption of food license?”

Democrat2: “You are obese, here is your government healthcare? You were born addicted to food, here is the name of the lawyers to sue skinny people.’

Old Miss is a haven for trial lawyers. This bill begins to introduce the idea that restaurants are responsible for people being fat, so they can be sued.

Wait until restruant refuses to serve people of protected classes,GLBT, muslim or people of color who are overweight.
The lawsuits/lawyers will be having a field day.
Which law takes precedent do not serve the obese, or no discrimination against the protected classes.

By the way I have been saying the same about anti-smoking nutjobs for years.
They are going to rue the day that they started this smoking/anti-smoking nonsense

Let's try this:

How about we keep it with my original which was OK, this is bill introduced by three people one of whom is a Dim. It has not been passed or even released from committee or whatever they do in Miss. Haley Barbour is the gov. Hold your fire. BTW, TSG says it it likely DOA and I do believe the Pubs control the Miss. legislature. and said in response to Thank you stupid Republicans!

But if you want to get upset about something that hasn't happened and is not likely going to, and blame the people who are going to keep it from happening, go right ahead.

Good point. What we have to stop doing is playing defense. We have to start agitating to rescind some of these laws. It can be done, but not by Democrats. We need to work to make a system where the choice is between a Libertarian and a Republican, not between a Democrat and Republican.

One of the things we’re most proud about is that we tell people what they can and can’t put in their bodies. Hell, we revel in it. Just ask the DEA.

I read this story last night. Then I went to bed. I had a dream about going to an "Eat-easy" in Mississippi.

I went down an alley, knocked on a door, said "Bertha sent me" and was admitted to a small room filled with smokers smoking and obese people eating fatty food.

I was enjoying a delicious meal of fetuccini alfredo, fried chicken and barbecued ribs. The shortwave radio was playing Rush Limbaugh. It was a scratchy sound, like listening to the BBC in occupied France during World War II.

Suddenly, there was a crash, we were being raided! It was a scene right out of "The Untouchables". The brown shirted men (members of the Peoples Health Commissariat) were arresting everyone in sight. Their leader (who look suspiciously like John Edwards) walked up to me. I stubbed out my cigar in his eye. I passed out from the effect of being hit by five tasers. Then I awoke. The nightmare was over.

Maybe it should be illegal for car dealers to sell cars to the obese. How bout couches? TVs? Maybe then too, they could pass laws mandating free meals to the skinny! There are health risks associated with people who diet too much. So,, mandate that skinny people must eat large portions of food each day for free. They should be forced fed! We know it's for their own good!

I can think of more!

People with poor eyesight should be arrested for not wearing their glasses. If caught reading in poor light, they need to be imprisoned! It's for their own good! We have to do it!! Lots of car accidents can be link to people who "just didn't see it coming" Then, of course, old people that can't read the prescription bottles correctly, overdose and die! Government needs to do something!

Actually?? I can think of the perfect law that should be passed. I think anytime a politician attempts to pass a law against liberty, they should be thrown out of office, spanked in the public square and a law passed that they never be allowed to hold any job ever again other than used car sales or cleaning up cow manure! It'll be for their own good!!

You NEVER KNOW why a person appears unusually heavy.

There are certainly exceptions, but if you spend any time in a Walmart, start looking at what is in the carts of gravitationally-challenged people. It will answer a lot of questions.
