As stupid as it is, I don’t see any reason the state of Mississippi can’t do this if they want to. But we’d better get over the idea that anything a state goverment can do to it’s citizens, the US Congress can do to all of us by claiming they’re “regulating commerce”.

Of course there is no bill that would demand that all obese State Legislators loose their job, that would be oppressive.

This reminds me of an old New Yorker cartoon. Two men and a dog. "Don't feed him anything. That's as big as I want him to get."

Good way to keep Michael Moore out of your state.

Most of his fat is between his ears.

define obese!

Good point. That'll go all the way to the Supreme Court, where it will be ruled that an obese person is "anyone fatter than Ruth Bader Ginsburg". (And one of the justices will declare in a supporting opinion, "I can't define obese, but I know it when I see it...)

Will they have scales at the door? Who will say what “Obese” is?

I think they'll federalize a new department under the DHS umbrella. The federal fat police will meet patrons at the door, where grannies will be required to remove their clothing so the agents can measure their BMI with calipers.

They have the “time” to write these kinds of laws, but no time to worry about such matters, as “trite” as the ILLEGAL INVASION going on.....

>> Soylent Green is people!

And darn tasty, too, if you’re hungry enough and they’re properly prepared.

Look at the bright side of this, serial killers don't go after fat people. They like the real skinny ones they can handle one on one.

In all seriousness, this can't be legal. It's discrimination.

This wouldn’t survive the first lawsuit, and he no doubt knows it.

you mean the way McCain-Feingold is clearly unconstitutional, and can't possibly survive judicial review?

No man's life, liberty or property are safe as long as court is in session.
