Huckabee Hints Clear Channel Conspiring With Romney
NewsBusters ^ | Matthew Sheffield

Speaking at a news conference in Oklahoma, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee floated the idea that the reason the vast majority of America's conservative talk radio hosts aren't endorsing him or John McCain is because Mitt Romney's investment firm owns a significant share of Clear Channel Communications, the nation's largest radio syndication company.

"Some suggest that the fact that Bain Capital owns a major stake in Clear Channel is on Sean's network, maybe there's a correlation. I don't know."

The Sean he was referring to had to be none other than Sean Hannity, America's number-two talk radio host behind Rush Limbaugh.

So jan I guess you are one of them new Conservatives them Border Conservatives in this big Conservative tent...

You know when I list my top Conservative traits... Bringing the Illegal Mexican immigrants to their just deportation and building a wall around the U.S. just wasnt on that list never has been and wasn’t when I became a Reagan Conservative.. So if you want to claim Libertarian then maybe you would be happy voting for that true 100 percent no complaining Libertarian Ron Paul .. .At least I could respect that.

Anyway these are what I want in a Leader and they are in priority order. So I will flex my vote appropriately..

1. Strong on National Defense (Fight the GWOT) Stay on Offense against the Terrorist that killed 3000 Americans on 911 so more Americans don’t die.

2. Strong on Family Values (Protect the sanctity of Life and Marriage (Always not just when it is political expediant)

3. Keep my taxes low

4. Keep government spending low only approve funds for required projects no earmarks or excess spending keep budget deficits in check.

5. No nanny states, Hold people accountable for their actions don’t take my tax dollars to bail others out of bad decisions.

Do you support my list or disagree.

It would be nice if we had the luxury of sitting around, picking out the best looking candidate, with the best looking family, who hadn’t made any mistakes, and even their families hadn’t.

But Reagan isn’t running this year. I love animals, but I’d rather overlook families that aren’t perfect than candidates that aren’t perfect.

I hope that Mitts conversionS are real, and if he’s the nominee, I’d take a chance on him instead of the Dems, but some of us are realistic enough to be a LITTLE skeptical that after years of supporting abortion, taxpayer funded abortion, the Brady Bill and other gun control, homosexual issues, gay judges, that he’s all of sudden conservative on ALL those issues.

Huckabee - reliably pro-life, not recently pro-life.

Huckabee - reliably pro 2nd amendment, not recently 2nd amendment.
He understands that it is for self defense, not just hunting and sports.

He is an ardent, articulate supporter of the Fair Tax, and I believe he really “gets it”. It is the best hope on the horizon for giving power back to the people, and waking people up to the stranglehold the current tax system has on the people and the economy.

If DUNCAN HUNTER believes he can be trusted on border/immigration and WOT issues, I would trust Duncan Hunter’s informed, educated judgment after he spent a year getting to know the candidates, more than I would trust the opinion of any of the haters on here.

Every vote for Mike Huckabee on Tuesday will be one more vote to show the establishment and the media that the election can’t be bought and we don’t have to settle for their opinion of “that’s the best we can get”.

Huck the Hick is so sickening. The only thing he should be voted for is President of the Whiners club if there is one. He makes me sick!

Thou Shalt Not Covet (For those of you in Rio Linda, it means not Coveting Romney’s life, looks, wife, kids, wealth, success, intelligence, education, delegates, record, etc.)

It is pretty clear that Romney has been duplicitous -- about Huckabee and many issues -- including life, itsef.

No more Richard Nixons, please.

I found no lies.

I do find unreasonable antipathy toward a Christian conservative, however.

He is bringing to light a big issue. It’s not just Clear Channel.

Romney people were behind the half-truth campaign of “Club for Growth” against Hucakbee.

Romney people have been buying Clear Channel.

Clear Channel carries an extraordinary clout in conservative media. It is worrisome, indeed.

It’s amazing how many so-called Christian men are addicted to porn and or visit prostitutes. It’s a dirty little secret. But I am afraid these are the types of Christians who are drawn to Huckabee. And then they deal with their guilt by bashing others on Sunday just because they don’t go to the same church. It’s a dirty secret, but it’s the truth!

How dare you?!

What a despicable, horrible, frothing with hatred thing to post.

Aren't you one of the ones who go around calling people "bigots", "haters" and "hypocrites" who dare disagree with the LDS church simply on a theological basis?

And here you are - launching a smear against "so-called Christian men" being porn addicts with no evidence offered whatsoever?

Good heavens. If I posted something like that and substituted the word "Mormons" instead of "Christian", I would have 27 Freep Hate mails in about 5 minutes.

I am not joking.

I am no Huckabee fan - but what you posted was absolute garbage.

If you were a big person, you would have the decency to apologize.

I agree with you about Hunter endorsing Huckabee.

I was hoping that he would run for Gov. of CA, but now I hope he doesn’t, because if he can endorse a big lib like Huckabee, I cannot support him.

What’s happening to my party???

One man lets HUMAN babies be killed, supports taxpayers funding it, campaigns on it while he’s in a blue state, then tries to to tell us he’s just started thinking about it, and changed his mind now, but his kids are great, and his hair is great, so we should vote for him???????

*** Nor Charles Krauthammer whom really is the true Conservative commentator... ***

No offense, but .. exsqueeze me?
FYI he is the quintessential Open Borders Neo-Con...

In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration, and began contributing to The New Republic magazine. During the presidential campaign of 1980, Krauthammer served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale.

In 1981, following the defeat of the Carter/Mondale ticket, Krauthammer began his journalistic career, joining The New Republic as a writer and editor. His New Republic writings won the 1984 "National Magazine Award for Essays and Criticism." In 1983, he began writing essays for Time magazine. In 1985, he began a weekly column for the Washington Post for which he won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize...

Krauthammer is generally considered a conservative, or neoconservative. However, he is a supporter of legalized abortion, an opponent of the death penalty, an intelligent design critic and an advocate for the scientific consensus on evolution, calling the religion-science controversy a "false conflict", a supporter of embryonic stem cell research (involving embryos discarded by fertility clinics), and a longtime advocate of radically higher energy taxes to induce conservation.

On second thought the good doctor isn't even a Neo-Con. He's still a Democrat, just not the insane type. He and Lieberman could be twins.

You know when I list my top Conservative traits... Bringing the Illegal Mexican immigrants to their just deportation and building a wall around the U.S. just wasn't on that list never has been and wasn’t when I became a Reagan Conservative.

Tom, again, you are putting words in my mouth, but at least this time you weren't screaming at me!

First of all, I never said I want them all rounded up and deported and a wall built around the US.

The truth is, illegal immigration was one of the lowest priorities for me until this happened.

The same week illegals boycotted, marched in the streets DEMANDING their rights, and worst of all DISRESPECTING the AMERICAN flag, some students at our local high school were suspended because they were wearing shirts that had American flags on them. This isn't an immigration thread, so I don't think I need to go into all the other reasons this concerns me, but I do resent being accused of being a bigot because I think the law should be enforced!

The dirty little secret is, the illegals are the new slave class. They are what will keep liberals in power because they will have a new dependent class. I know there is no easy solution, but I deeply resent that our Government tried to pass amnesty in the dark of the night! Why isn't Mexico expected to FIX Mexico? This confuses me. As Americans, we can't go to Mexico and work and live. And I guarantee, we could NEVER fly the Mexican flag upside-down with the American flag flying above it. I bet anyone doing that would spend the rest of their life in jail!

I don't recall ever saying I was a Libertarian either, although IF I was more comfortable with Dr. Paul's ideas on National Security, I would be a supporter of his. He is the ONLY candidate that I know of, that actually respects the Constitution and wants to strengthen it.

I think your list is GREAT, and if that is your complete list, then my guess is, unless I have misjudged Dr. Paul, your candidate is John McCain. If there is another candidate running that meets ALL those qualifications, PLEASE let us all know.

If nothing else matters to you then that list, then you can certainly vote with a clear conscious, and I have no problem with that at all. In fact, I would say you are very fortunate to be one hundred per cent at peace with your decision. Now, I guess maybe I am making a lot of assumptions about you that may not be true, if so, I apologize. I'm just trying to read between the lines.

I welcome people having differences of opinion, but we shouldn't be acting like the leftists who will not respectfully debate differences of opinion, and will silence any dissent.

IMHO, there is no "perfect" candidate for the Republican Party. They all have strengths, and they all have weaknesses. It's funny, the Democrats two candidates have almost no differences, and they have low standards of their candidates. Republicans seem to have such high standards that NO ONE can meet them. I wish I had a solution, but I don't!(I'm not saying we shouldn't have high standards, I'm just saying, other than Jesus Christ, I don't know anyone that can meet them all)!

"....Huckabee’s son, while at Boy Scout camp, caught a stray dog, hung it with a rope, slit its throat with a pocket knife, and stoned it to death?"

Perhaps the dog was a harlot and Young Huck hadn't finished reading the Old Testament and hadn't yet started reading the New Testament....

I am just trying to explain some of the hypocricy. It’s a dirty secret. Sorry if it offends. But it explains why some are so blind. I don’t respect Huckabee just looking at his spawn. It also helps explain why some are so easily deceived, there is always an explaination as to why. His sons are some pretty bad fruit. I didn’t just pull that out of the air. Someone was writing about Huckabee’s son who has an addiction to porn. This is not to mention the other son who apparently thinks it’s ok to slit a stray dogs throat. Don’t act so shocked, the subject was brought up and I was just adding my 2 cents.
