Huckabee Hints Clear Channel Conspiring With Romney
NewsBusters ^ | Matthew Sheffield

Speaking at a news conference in Oklahoma, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee floated the idea that the reason the vast majority of America's conservative talk radio hosts aren't endorsing him or John McCain is because Mitt Romney's investment firm owns a significant share of Clear Channel Communications, the nation's largest radio syndication company.

"Some suggest that the fact that Bain Capital owns a major stake in Clear Channel is on Sean's network, maybe there's a correlation. I don't know."

The Sean he was referring to had to be none other than Sean Hannity, America's number-two talk radio host behind Rush Limbaugh.

That is becoming more and more obvious. Also that is another reason Huckabee will not drop out, because he keeps his supporters from defecting to Romney, helping McCain. I think there is probably an agreement between him and McCain to stay in the race and get the VP slot?

Huckabee is bucking for the VP slot, no question about it.

I hope McCain isn’t stupid enough to give Huckabee the VP slot. If McCain does that, you can kiss this election “bye, bye”. Imho, Huckabee is hoping for some kind of cabinet position.

I’m also still hoping Romney will pull it out and become the nominee.

Sean hates McCain...can you blame him?

Can I ask you a question? As a Huckabee fan, does it bother you that Huckabee’s son, while at Boy Scout camp, caught a stray dog, hung it with a rope, slit its throat with a pocket knife, and stoned it to death? Also, are you a Michael Vick fan too?

It’s hard for me to comprehend why anybody who didn’t grow up in Hope AR has ever taken this guy seriously.

(And don’t say we weren’t warned about him long ago by the Club for Growth and leaders of the Arkansas GOP.)

“Unless he has proof of this statement, this is a pretty sleazy thing to say.”

The veracity of a statement has little to do with its effectiveness in a campaign, whether political or advertising.

“This is just DIRTY POLITICS by Huckabee

(States his claim with no references and then says - but “I don’t know...”)

Very slick.”

Same as the Jesus/satan’s brother comment. He makes outrageous comments but state’s he doesn’t know as some kind of stupid cover. He thinks he’s really clever.

I Don’t think Sean’s program has anything to do with Clear Channel. I think it is owned by Citadel.

Huckabeen= Loser

Of course none are bothered by the fact that his son did what he did. The Huckster fits the role in the gane plan to lift McTraitor to a position he don not belog....

Oh my, looks like there are republicans who will need some tin foil hats.

Laura Ingraham, Tammy Bruce, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity must have all gotten paid off by Romney.
AS for Sean, he had Fred Thompson on his show a few times, he had that extensive tv interview with Fred when Fred first entered the race. I thought Fred should have left his little girl at home rather than bring her to the interview.

Yep. Huckabee’s using the well-worn liberal “some say” tactic. Put out wholly unsubstantiated or knowingly false charges whilst whistling innocently and raising your eyes to admire the halo floating over your head.

McCain is sort of a stupid , shallow guy, but would he really pick the Huckster to be his VP?? Is he that stupid and shallow?

Huck’s putting on his tin foil hat now.

His attacks should be on McCain, not Romney.

Why aren’t they?

I think I’ve figured out the answer.

I found that listening to him on the radio was illuminating. Really hearing what he was saying was a bit of a shock.

He's much more effective on TV, where his smiling delivery serves to soften his message.
