Romney out. Congratulations Freepers on ensuring there was no conservative in the race. (Vanity)

Posted on 02/07/2008 9:51:12 AM PST by mbraynard

You rallied behind someone who never had their heart in the race and was never a leader in their life (Thompson) or never had a chance in hell (Hunter). What is needed more than anything to win the WH is a drive to do the spade work necessary to get there. So by denying Romney victory in IA and NH and SC, and splitting the field, you now have probably the worst enemy of all - someone the Wonderful Mr. Jim Robinson never saw fit to put a 'truth file' on.

So, nice work.

JimRob, I appreciate your restraint in recent weeks, but can we start showing these idiots the door when they poke you with a short stick? I'm tired of this crap, as if you not having a truth file on someone means you have your nose buried in their colon.

You supported a flip flopping liberal MA governor who only discovered the term ‘conservative’ in the last 2 years, and you are lecturing those who stood with guys that had some genuine bona fides?

Well said. I backed Romney, but only after the real conservatives failed to catch fire.

I apologize. I was reading posts and replying to those that caught my interest.

I blame the candidates, voters and MSM (or any type of news organization because of the slants). Mostly, I blame the people of this country that don’t know history, currents events, etc. And, it’s not really blame. I just find so many people in this country have crossed over to the whole “government is supposed to help me” mentality rather than people helping themselves. Or, the “what’s best for me” attitude. Sometimes, what’s best for individuals isn’t best for upholding our Constitution and protecting our rights.

I’ve always been up on politics, history, current events but slacked off for many years, during the 90s. I was having and raising babies so most of the 90s are a blur to me other than the major events. I’ve always been a conservative republican and now I’m just a conservative but not a one issue voter.

Some of the threads and posts lately have leaned towards blaming those who voted their choice. Especially this initial thread but also others. IMO the republican party has veered to the left, given our top 3 candidates and especially the front runner. Either the party left me or I’m not the voter the party wants to attract anymore.

Why? For telling the truth?

Blaming Jim Robinson for the McCain nomination is "the truth?" Questioning the conservative cred of Freepers who didn't jump on the Romney bandwagon back when he was still one of the most liberal guys in the race is "the truth?" Puh-leeze!

Since McCain is 100% unacceptable and Huckabee is a clown, now we are left with Paul.

I already voted on Tuesday, but if I had a primary coming up I can tell you I would not vote for that incompetent cut-and-run psycho at gunpoint. NO SALE.

The eventual full enactment of the Fairness Doctrine will truly end all of the finger pointing here on Free Republic.

I need a lesson on some of these sayings/acronyms. What does *get bent* mean? What does FUBAR mean? And there’s too many more to type :) I thought I was up to date on the IM, text messaging shorthand but apparently not.

Mitt, and you MittWits, should have been smart enough to know from the Git-Go that the Mormon thing would be too steep of a hill for the base to climb.

We were supposed to know that a section of our base is a bunch of bigots who will vote for a vicious Jesus-wants-open-borders-and-a-national-smoking-ban-and -I can't spell-economics "Christian" rather than have a Mormon in the White House? Sorry, no sale. I thought we were smarter than that.

Well I sort of agree with the author. There is good reason John Stuart Mill called the Conservative Party (in US the closest we have is Republican Party) the STUPID PARTY. The Conservatives/Republicans are THE STUPID PARTY. The Democrats are the EVIL PARTY.
We have many so called Conservatives who would cut off their nose to spite their face. We have single issue folks like anti-abortionists and gun rights people who are not willing to look at the composite issues/stances of the candidate. For the record I'm against abortion and very pro 2nd amendment. But I realize that it takes 218 electoral votes to win an election and I know how to think strategically.
Actually Romney was my third choice in terms of philosophy but I supported him because looking the the electoral map I figured he would have the best chance of winning the states which would be necessary for a victory in the General Election.
I'm a native son of the South. I was born and raised in VA and reside in CA. But for the life of me I cannot figure out why so many in the South went for Huckabee. This split the vote and allowed McCain to move in. I also think there was some bias against Romney on religious grounds. Shame on those people and you know who you are. These folks need to look at a map. As for those who voted for McCain, well I cannot say what I would like to because the moderator would remove my comments. You McCain voters are */@(/?*^%.
. So we stand a good chance of getting killed in November.
It took the media about 30 milli-seconds after Super Tuesday to start attacking McCain. Get ready for this you McCain people. We are the STUPID PARTY!

Allow me. Get bent means twisting male equipment at a right angle while in the ready position - sorry, but that's the cleanest description I can think of.

FUBAR is another nasty acronym of military origin. The clean version is Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition. Replace Fouled to get the dirty version.

I prefer the Freeper version of FUBAR that I coined recently (see my profile for others:

FUBAR--FREEPER with UNUSUALLY BAD ATTITUDE, RANTING
