Conservatives need to recognize that Liberal Mind Fog is not inconsistent with intelligence. There are many intelligent people who suffer from it; I used to be one. Unfortunately, conservatives who have never suffered from Liberal Mind Fog have no clue about how it works. Many liberals aren't evil. They actually want many of the same things conservatives would want, if there weren't this annoying thing called "reality" in the way. Unfortunately, Liberal Mind Fog makes people blind as to whether any particular government proposal will actually do anything useful toward achieving the stated objective.

In many cases, people who suffer from Liberal Mind Fog are neither stupid, nor evil, nor generally ignorant. It's funny--I was actually a liberal (suffering from LMF) for awhile after I took Economics in college. Until I cleared my mind of LMF, I understood how markets worked, and yet somehow believed that there were some magic exceptions. I couldn't see how they could possibly worked, but figured they must, somehow. It never occurred to me (until the LMF cleared) that the people putting forth these various policy proposals didn't have some magic insight into how to get past the laws of economics, but were simply lying about what their plans would actually achieve.
