That is a neat picture, where do you get an update?

I would suppose the white areas are snow cover whereas the gray areas are patchy snow or ice, correct?

Most of us who have observed the Chicken Little global warming hysteria can't help but notice the favored term which has come into vogue recently is "climate change."

I was a schoolboy in North Dakota during the March 4-8, 1966 blizzard which covered most of the Dakotas, Minnesota and the southern parts of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. I remember feeling cheated because the four day blizzard started on a Friday and we only got two day off school out of it. By Monday afternoon, the stores begin to open. The first items to get stripped off the shelves were coffee and tobacco.

It was only a year or two after that when schools begin to teach that industrialization were causing a new ice age. The theory was that carbon particles in the upper atmosphere would reflect sunlight away from the earth, providing a thin layer of insulation from the warming rays of the sun. The solution then was exactly the same as the solution proposed now-- more government control, particularly in the free world.

Uphill. In the Snow. In Bare Feet. Both Ways.

Then I had to milk the cows and render the pigs.

Shovel The Coal.

Stoke the Fire.

Help with the Foaling.

Then, and only then...

A Hearty Breakfast!

One spoonful of thin gruel.

/Midwesterner reminiscing mode>

Cheers!

It is our responsibility to control the global climate. Too bad Cheney won’t let us use his weather machine for that, I guess we just need carbon trading to do it.

Stop the world, I want to get off. We’re drowning in idiots here.

You have to adjust your business model. Sell “climate change” credits and cover all the bases.

Learn this term ~ "F I M B U L W I N T E R".

Ignore all that stuff about rock and roll and mythology.

A Fimbul Winter happens every now and then. It's one where Winter comes, lasts through the next Spring, Summer and Fall, and turns into Winter again.

These suckers usually presage famine.

If the extended area of snow cover lasts into the Spring planting season, it's going to be a bad year.

Arctic sea-ice is defined as simply a condition were 15% or less of the water surface of the Arctic Ocean is open.

If 16% is open water, then there is no sea-ice.

Mighty small difference there, so I hope no one was planning on the Arctic Ocean's ice to completely disappear.

Yes, I have noticed that too. The climate is always changing, therefore its the fault of people. When you point to the fact that the Globe is not warming anymore, they will just say “Of course, its climate change—we told you so!”

You missed:

Uphill. In the Snow. In Bare Feet. Both Ways.

On icy days we had to wrap our bare feet in barbed wire for traction.

Then I had to milk the cows and render the pigs.

Well according to some of the 'scientists' on the History Channel last night - near the end of a 2 hour show about the Little Ice Age (after the viewer was hooked on that info)- the LIA was caused by volcanoes spewing sulphur into the atmosphere.

This interfered with a process called the 'conveyor' which is an ocean current bringing warm water to the north. Of course now we have - gasp - SUVs spewing sulphur yada, yada.

And naturally they then went on into predicting what was going to happen as a result, i.e., crop failures, famine etc. I turned it off before that part got cranked up to full blast. To be fair, earlier in the show they actually had some experts blaming the LIA on solar activity, but it didn't look like those scientists were going to be involved in the 'predicting' part.

Climate Change is junk science, let's not rush into it so fast.

I have been holding off selling my carbon credits until the price went higher.

Is the market for carbon credits falling?

I should have sold six months ago!

And God looked down upon the earth and said “Let it be cold” and it was cold. Then he said “Let it be warm” and it was warm . And all the atheists said “we need to throw our treasure to the hands of the global socialists” and God did laugh.

Confirm snow cover on the front range of Colorado. Sun shines, but snow does not melt much.
