Al-Qaeda in Iraq faces an extraordinary crisis. Last year's mass defection of ordinary Sunnis from al-Qaeda to the US military created panic, fear and the unwillingness to fight. The terrorist group's security structure suffered total collapse.
These are the words not of al-Qaeda's enemies but of one of its own leaders in Anbar province once the group's stronghold. They were set down last summer in a 39-page letter seized during a US raid on an al-Qaeda base near Samarra in November.
The US military released extracts from that letter yesterday along with a second seized in another November raid that is almost as startling.
That second document is a bitter 16-page testament written last October by a local al-Qaeda leader near Balad, north of Baghdad. I am Abu-Tariq, emir of the al-Layin and al-Mashahdah sector, the author begins. He goes on to describe how his force of 600 shrank to fewer than 20.

But Nancy Pelosi says all is lost, and she’s got such incredible foreign policy cred.
Third times a charm
I don’t think the NY Times has said anything yet....Washington Post has however.,

It is an excellent read.
To the tune of 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon...
The Americans shoot us every time we go outside,
and were running out of places we can hide.
Even the Sunnis, have joined the other side,
feels like it may be time to leave Al Qaeda.
We used to have over six hundred men,
now I think maybe we have ten,
oh no, here come the helicopters once again,
I think it may be time to leave Al Qaeda,
there must be fifty ways to leave Al Qaeda,
Steal a new car, Omar,
a Benz will take you far,
slip out to the souk, Farouk, to buy some tea.
Yeah play it cool Abdul, dont be a dead fool,
Just get up and go, Mo, and set yourself free.
I just dont get why they turned on us like they did,
because we drilled their kneecaps and strapped bombs on their kids,
now theyre showing everyone just where were hid,
I think it’s probably time to leave Al Qaeda.
Yeah, there must be fifty ways to leave Al Qaeda,
Steal a new car, Omar,
a Benz will take you far,
slip out to the souk, Farouk, to buy some tea.
Yeah play it cool Abdul, dont be a dead fool,
Just get up and go, Mo, and set yourself free.
“What’ll we do if the Democrats LOSE?!!!”
“US military created panic, fear”
Bad bews for Hadji - Justice has arrived.
And he wears the Eagle, Globe and Anchor....and the ACU of the Army, the funky green of the US Air Force..........
This is such bad news for both the terrorists as well as the democrats.
Billy Kess
Al-Qaeda leaders and their whole families should be killed not arrested.
Send a message that their brand of b.s. will not be tolerated.
That would really send a message of fear in to their sorry butts and to anyone who even thinks of joining their band.
Unfortunately This is about 2 years to late. We have the terrorist on the ropes but can we deliver the knockout blow in less than 1 year??? That is the question. Once Hillobama get in, the terroist will have 4 to 8 years to regroup and rebuild their networks. We are in for a rough ride in the next 4 years. Terroist cells in the US again, Stricter gun control, higher taxes, more illegal immigration, white house scandals and strong-arming, it will be the 90’s clinton admin all over again. I am very worried.
Yep. Whack 'em and stack 'em.

Thanks Ernest. If they think there’s panic and fear *now*, just let them hang on until their last stand, which will be somewhere besides Iraq.
Stalin’s useful idiots will lie their brains out to their last breath.
