ALERT - Magnitude 7.3 Earthquake in Greece

WASHINGTON - An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck Thursday southern Greece and its epicentre was about 61 km southwest of the city of Kalamata, announced the American Institute of Geophysics (USGS).

Seems to have been downgraded to magnitude 6.7, with a 6.4 aftershock:

Either they have good building codes or the regional geology mutes the effect of such quakes; otherwise it seems like there would have been some damage.

When visiting the ruins at Olympia I noticed it appeared an earthquake had knocked everything down. Would a 7.3 take those columns down? Maybe not, but a bigger quake could do it and apparently they can get a good-sized quake.

Most of their quakes are fairly mild, but they do get big ones from time to time. This page provides some details.
