Is it just me, or are many Obama followers crossing the line with their admiration? He's not a politician to them - he's a deity. Even his wife is in on it...."Obama wants you to shed your cynicism!" Friends, that's just flat out creepy.
Call me a cynic, but to me this is strong evidence that what many Democrats really worship is government. Now they've found their savior. If you've ever listened to one of his speeches, they're full of religious references.
If evangelicals are as important to Republicans as many claim, I'd hope they'd come out in force and put an end to this religious fervor. They can't like what they're seeing.
I'm not going to say all Democrats feel this way. There are many that are faithful Christians and Jews.

I’ve been saying this, but no one seems to be listening. Obama has a religious sort of following. If he changed his name to Osama and donned a turban...we’d be afraid, but because the guy is wearing a nice suit we’re ignoring the danger.

I think Obamamania is more telling about many Democrats and what they believe than Obama himself.

I’ve noted in other posts, I’m reminded more of Jim Jones in the way he attracts followers. ‘Sheeple’ is an understatement. Are there really that many wingnuts out there? (don’t answer that)

Well said. The sheeple are programmed to swooner over/idolize whatever fad BS is popular at the time - The empty suit is another “Celeb” to them. He needs his picture on “16 Magazine” or “Teen Beat”
Some posters here have the notion the empty suit is the Antichrist of the Bible. That doesnt add up though. “Rock Star” is closer to home.
It was basically the same with John Kerry in 2004. Hardly anyone heard of him then suddenly he was their messiah, and could do no wrong. Wherever he would go throngs of glazey-eyed liberals would sing his praises. This time it may even be worse because the liberals don’t even know what Obama stands for, they just “feel” good about him. It’s like they’ve been programmed, which may not be far from the truth. There is an area of the brain, so they say, dedicated to religious worship. With liberals it seems to be misplaced.
