(Your article is great and I completely agree.)
Yes, we should all chip in and pay this additional $3K each of us to the UN to end world poverty. Because then there will be no more poor people, ever.

Yes, waste money on stuff nobody needs so you can go back for more is a given, Democrat or Republican, thought at least the Republicans have lowered tax rates.

Considering how many bridges in America need replacement...along with infrastructure issues in New York, Boston and Chicago...I’d be thinking of fixing my back yard before I go around fixing other folks yards.

I demand that Obamarama slow the rotation of Earth...just not enough hours in a day to make the money I'm gonna need to 'contribute'.
We might need another month...Obamuary?

"Considering how many bridges in America need replacement...along with infrastructure issues in New York, Boston and Chicago...Id be thinking of fixing my back yard before I go around fixing other folks yards." It's comments like this that give Republicans a bad name. Do you not care? Do you not have any feelings for the welfare of others? We are doing this for the children sir! I see no problem with Obama giving 3.4 trillion dollars to stop this crisis. When Obama is President he should immediately give an executive order to the Treasury to start printing this money...we could give it to the UN to distribute it.
Robert,
Do you know how much it would cost for us to print 3.4 Trillion dollars? Surely wouldn't cost that much. We can do this. We can end world poverty!
To: dasboot
You’re just being silly now. This would never be possible.
First, you would never get the rest of the world to agree to this...especially the French.
Second, the republicans in Congress would never approve this plan.
WAIT!!!
Obama could do this by executive order!

Americans can do the possible today, and the impossible tomorrow, but when it comes to obama and his hope and change method, the likelihood of the possible today and impossible tomorrow slides down the razor blade toward the pool of alcohol...Lots of screaming accompanying...mho

To: Tahts-a-dats-ago
Hell no!
If he takes 845billion out of this nation-
It will show just how smart our founders were in penning the second amnedment.
It would then be time.

OK, assuming thats the case, who is going to stand up in Congress and make that claim and still manage to avoid being put into straight jacket?Nobody, if we won't stand up for anyone who would.

Kind of reminds me of an odd song...
She Got the Gold Mine and I Got the Shaft.
I can hear those dictators singing a version
with different words ... but with the same premise.

Even George W. Bush would never propose anything like that.Do not let your heart be troubled. He's still in office until January 19, 2009.

If we’re going to send money to foreign countries to end poverty, I say we air-drop it right on the villages. Those heads of state don’t look to be missing any meals so I don’t see any point in giving it to them.

Haven’t you heard? Everyone has a right to housing, a job, and healthcare. And its up to us rich Americans to pay for it. Not just for us, but world-wide.

I should add that anyone who opposes this largess will be called racist and mean-spirited.

Well, then, I guess I’m racist and bigoted.
This legislative tripe is beyond rational. This abrogation of US sovereignty is clearly unconstitutional, and should be the death knell of BHO’s presidential aspirations.
Unfortunately, I don’t see that is fueling the appropriate level of moral outrage that it should.
Sad, sad state of affairs for this grand experiment. And, I fear for the future of the country.
