Morning AB, All....

....So I am involved in nothing less than the preservation of free property and the right to sell to whoever you want here in the swamps of Delaware.

And still I am here filled with piss and vinegar and ready to comment as required.

Heh.

Is that your point?

Nope.

The point is all VP candidates are picked to add something to the ticket either regionally or skill set wise.

Cheney was picked to add depth and experience to Bush's ticket. What they called "gravitas" during the 2000 elections season.

Moderate, maverick, old DC hand McCain needs to pick someone who bring serious economic and executive experience to balance his national security credentials plus someone who balances his appeal to the NE and Western States by appealing to either the Midwest or South. He also needs someone to balance his age and years of DC experience by being young, vigorous and new to the national political scene.

Since any McCain election strategy is going to rely heavily on winning Fla, he does himself no harm picking a Conservative Southern who not only balances his ideological and political weaknesses but also enhances his regional appeal.

Their game plan hasn’t changed much since FDR.

When I tried to explain that their costs would be coming out of their paychecks as well as everyone else,

######

I ask people what they know or hear about health care for veterans. They all have ‘heard’ griping about VA care. . Then I say how can you Believe that Obama will make a health system totally controlled by the government better than what we have in America now, if they can’t even do it for our veterans.

Then I follow up asking if they are happy with their contacts with the Moter Vehicles Administration, or the Post Office...

Maryland is not American in miniature because it is a deep blue state. Most of American is Red State America. And Presidential elections are won in the Electoral college, not just by who has the strongest political machine in a particular state like Gov races usually are.

The only fault I can see in your rsponse is you are assuming McCain will act logically. I’m not convinced McCain will do that. He’s been too off the reservation in the past to assume he will choose a running mate who will do what you suggest.

All I can say is every time Democrats attack the “rich” and raise their taxes, I end up paying more.

I've used that argument before too, but the kids these days seem to think all money belongs to the government. I tell them if a rat gets into the WH, that it will happen.

With a line up like today,I think of the days where Biden, Schumer and Kerry monopolized the airwaves. As to the upcoming election, finally the pundits are correct........This is the most important election the country has ever faced.

It’s good that they prefer lying to themselves about their defeats rather than bothering to learn the real reason why.

As tough as it is to win the White House 3 elections in a row the Democrats seem bound and determined to run as unelectable a canidate as possible. There slogan seems to be

Change too insane to contemplate seriously

If the electorate was of the same quality as in 1988 or 1998... I'd agree.

Maybe but by time you are playing at that level of politics you desperately want to win. Bill Clinton was said to really dislike Al Gore but he picked him because he was the VP candidate best able to help him win.

No matter how over weening his Ego, McCain knows this is his one, and only, chance left to be President.

Actually, geographically most of Maryland is Red State, too. We have 24 political subdivisions, and only 3 decide who the Dem governor will be. Baltimore city, Prince Georges and Montgomery counties (both surround DC).

I’ve started thanking young voters for their willingness to pay me more. Sarcasm seems to work better than logic.

FNS starts with the governers and how they will vote:

MN: (Pawlenty)...MN is a competitive “purple” state.

SC: Sanford: Only once has you state gone Dem, with Carter...does Obama have a chance: NO

VA: Kaine (sp): Obama has a great chance in winning VA; Barak got more votes than all republicans combined. A mammoth turnout for Osama (oops, I mean Obama, the gov didn’t make that mistake,I did) :-)

NJ: Corzine: McCain is a centrist which plays well in NJ, but...Obama is the mesiah.

I think 1984 was the last time Maryland voted for a Rep for President right?
