Let me see if I understand your point.

... he (McCain) is going to have trouble in the tradition red states unless he gives them something to vote for

So traditional Republican voters who do not get a 'conservative' enough vice presidential running mate for John McCain are going to, out of anger or perhaps apathy, vote for the Marxist democrat or stay home and let the Marxist democrat win by default?

Is that your point?

I hope you are not inferring the Huckster....

This election cycle selection is so bad that Huck appears to be the best of the bunch remaining. That is disheartening that the choices have come to these 4.

Three Senators, their only real experience is professional bloviating. None of them could run a lemonade stand, yet one of them will probably become President.

I don’t think Obama will sell well to the public at large. He causes Democrats to swoon but I am not yet convinced that will sell to the public at large. I think when Americans get a good look at Obama, they are going to decide “Obama: change too insanely scary to contemplate”

When Hillary or Obama lose the Democrats are going to go nuts, once again. Of course, that assumes Republicans don’t snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

As matters now stand, either Obama or Hillary would have to be considered the favorite to win in November.

Yes, Riley would be an excellent choice.

'Obama is bringing in new voters, young voters.'

Was it not reported that the girl who did the 'I love O' song on Youtube did not bother to show up to vote form him in the primary?

“he helped break it, and he has done little to fix it.” In fact, he helped legislate much of it!

You are right, of course. Silly me to think otherwise.

Which is why I’m skeptical about all this young voter talk. Many of them won’t know what to do when they find out they can’t vote for him online or via text message.

I sure hope you’re right. The only problem is voters don’t always vote logically. They get emotionally caught up in supporting the Democrats candidate.

... but, don’t forget McCain’s national image as being outside the Republican establishment.

Democrats and Republicans both have poor favorability ratings with the public.

A centrist is well positioned to win in November.

At least Senator Warner is already asking about Hussein's "claim" about the rifle squad CPT. I also want some explanation about all the "fainting" people at his rallies.

Sen. Warner Calls For Hearing on Obama's Taliban Claims (When Republicans Attack - 'Bout Time)

I'll admit one thing. There a lot of young skulls full of mush voting for him. I had the opportunity to talk to some the other day. When I asked them why they supported him, they all said they were tired of the war and wanted free health care.

I asked them if they'd heard the latest Hussein (used that as his name) radio and tee vee ads here in Texas about the "current administration has fallen out of touch with mainstream citizens" and the cost of their health care under his plan.

When I tried to explain that their costs would be coming out of their paychecks as well as everyone else, they had the "deer in the headlight" stare. And they wonder why we call them DUmmies.

Bush was considered a lost cause in 2004 even up to the exit polls on election night.

I see the same reaction to Obama in CO. He generates enthusiasm but the people supporting him don’t have a clue on how he’s planning on paying for his programs.

All I can say is every time Democrats attack the “rich” and raise their taxes, I end up paying more.

Right. Trust the press. That’ll fix it. < /s >

Besides, everybody knows Karl Rove stole the election.

McCrazy got where he is without conservatives so I expect him poke them in the eye again with his VP choice.

He is also in money trouble because he signed up for public funding and now can’t get out of that trap.

I wonder if he will pick Bloomberg to pay for his campaign?

Some of my students wanted to know if I was voting for the woman or the black guy. When I said neither, they did not know they were both from the same party.
