The Talk Shows
Sunday, February 24th, 2008

MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Ralph Nader, consumer advocate and former presidential candidate.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Joe Biden, D-Del., and Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee (R); National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell; Robert Bennett, attorney for McCain; Govs. Ed Rendell, D-Pa., Kathleen Sebelius, D-Kan., and Tim Pawlenty, R-Minn.; Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb.
Republicans are holding fire right now until the Democrat candidate is known. Once that happens, my guess is more will be spoken and printed on what they stand for. Then it will be interesting to watch unfold.
And it’s doing a fine job...........
He is popular, fiscally and socially conservative, and even looks a little like the Gipper!
it looks like only Fox with Davis is going to stir the pot on the NYT fiasco, and nobody from Obama’s camp has been pressured into defending “proud” or the lies about the army captain. It should be a good week for the Republican counter-offensive, but the crickets chirping is all that will be heard in the land.
Change too insane to contemplate seriously
(Republican) Governor Palin of Alaska was on cspan this morning. She is an eloquent speaker with a background in journalism before politics. She is a new gov, but hopes someday to be in national politics. Her ability to communicate reminds me of Kay Bailey Hutchinson, also a former reporter.
Man what a weak lineup. Is this the equivalent of a Sunday talk show bye week?
Yes, he would be a good pick!
We all know how much John Edwards helped John Kerry win southern states. /s
The only question I have is whether or not voters will listen to and understand what Obama stands for, or will they vote for him without that knowledge? Remembering how JFK won as voters failed to know why they voted for him has to be the scariest aspect of an Obama candidacy. Heck, Obama has less credentials than JFK had, and the crowds swoon over him. It’s as Rush says, symbolism over substance.
Hopefully Obama’s stock has peaked out just in time to knock off Hillary but will come crashing down come November.
Sorry, just saw AB’s post. Well, at least, he has 3 votes ;o)
He's going to get the Kucinich vote (singular).
I agree but the key is “hopefully.”
As crazy as the Democrats are, one never knows what they will do. They don’t play by the rules so we have to anticipate any possibility.
[Doubtful, however. McCain accused Alito of wearing his conservatism on his shirt sleeve. It would appear hypocritical for him to go with a staunch conservative.]
and that Providence would step in (soon) and allow that conservative to head the ticket.
[But alas, that is wishful thinking.]I just don't see McCain winning in November. Not unless OBL/al-Qaeda commit a major terrorist action or release a tape just prior to the election. And that is doubtful, as they did in 04 and Kerry lost.
Many of the ‘good’ conservatives are too busy doing their jobs - not out getting face/name time on TV.
I hope she is not as ‘moderate’ as KBH.

$$$$$
I hope that your outlook is correct, but we know what Rush says about ‘hope.’
One of the slogans for Maryland is “America in Miniature” because we go from mountains to the ocean, have beautiful rural areas and a large seaport in Baltimore, etc.
Maryland voters just put into the governor’s mansion the mayor of Baltimore = a failed and failing city. If anyone has watched the HBO show called The Wire, it is a documentary!!!
He asked residents to BELIEVE and they promoted him to governor. He uses our money to reward his friends and keep their loyalty. He is raising taxes exorbitantly, and residents are now saying “we didn’t know he would do this.” Voters are having buyers’ remorse, but since Maryland is America in Miniature, I am trying to say BEWARE. This kind of empty-headed rhetoric can win a campaign in a state near you. [generic you]
Do not discount the possibility of American voters choosing to Believe that Obama is a fairy godfather.
