I was stationed at Ft. Richardson for 6 1/2 years. believe me, Anchorage has her share of liberals.
It’s almost like a suburb of Sea-Tac.

Doesn’t sound very symbolic to me. Sounds like they dumped red paint on a monument. Symbolic would be, like, red confetti.

I certainly hope that no freepers are tempted to retaliate against any revered symbols of peacenik culture by, say, defacing the Woodstock monument, torching a neighborhood head-shop, or blocking the doors to a cow-college sociology department.

sad isn’t it like they don’t know who is behind this stuff

I see this kind of an act as more like treason then anything else. That may be a stretch, but in my heart that is what I see.

“spmeone had been painting the snow around the base of the memorial.
ANd the asshats used oil based paint. POster paint or something that would wash off, not such a big deal
FWIW, there are now “more than one” camera aimed at the area. The cops are looking, if they can nail the essobees could be a major fine.

The cops had better get them first - Anchorage is a big military town.

It is sad that we even have to deal with these types of actions while we have boots on the ground.
We need a 40th Amendment: Deface our memorials and you rot in Joe Arapaho's jail.
