I have a great idea John. At the start of every Freepathon let all the bugs loose in the place but hint that a donation will miraculously erase all errors. Bet we could finnish that fundraiser in a week.

Hmmm, I went to your profile page and it said this:

Your profile page is being held hostaage (spoell check is broken) by Dr. Zoo.

Put $3.27 in small coins in a lardge(spill check stil broken) potatoe sack and leave it behind the dumpster at the MacDougals on 43 St in Clovis at 9:07 PM Free Republic Time.

When the loot is recovered, your profile page will be restored on some other FR members page.

We’re Doomed!

The good news is that now there is only one Time Zone

It used to be called Specific Time Zone, but now it is Free Republic Time Zone.

FR is getting better and better!

It's not funded like a corporation either. Seriously. Separate offline facilities of sufficient scope to reasonably test freerepublic offline, along with all the care and feeding they require, would require a budget several times what we have.

I simply don't know why that would be true. Server space is cheap. It's not hundreds of thousands of dollars, especially for a test environment.

Maybe you know something I don't know which is unique to the FR server environment, but I guarantee it doesn't cost a corporation several hundred thousand dollars to host a test environment before migrating it to the live users.

That depends on the size of the system under test and on the amount of specialized expertise required to keep it going.

I work for a company with a market capitalization of several hundred billion dollars.

FR has perhaps 2,500 active posters and another 1,000 who occasionally post.

The comparison between systems is night and day.

I think I know what I’m talking about here.

My problem is not that I can’t see my profile, I can. The problem is when I go to the bottom and click on “Edit” to change or tweek something ALL my HTML is gone that created the page.

John...the delete when replying in freepmail seems to be broken. I selected delete when I was sending a reply to 3 separate freepmails and none of them deleted.

Also, after replying, it still says “read” not “replied”.

I think everyone is having that same problem. But, as someone further up the thread said, the code is somewhere on the FR server or you wouldn't be seeing your page at all.

If you want to save your html code, go to "view source" (or right click on your profile page to get the "view source" option) and then save it to a .txt file. That way, if your page happens to disappear, you can copy it into the edit window and get it back again.

Yes, after I replied to you, I realized that is what your ping was regarding. I posted a message to him about using the “view source” to save his html code. Hope that helps.

When I click on “you can edit this page” on my PROFILE Page, this it what it leads to instead:

Edit Your Public Profile
Location
Contact

E-mail

Homepage

Messenger

Anything you’d like to say about yourself?

Not of course what I wanted to edit.

MEG, do you have a copy of your profile page code saved on your hard drive? Everyone is having the same problem with the html code not being where it should be in the profile page edit window. Mine is blank also. It would be a good idea to have a copy of your profile page code saved somewhere on your computer, just in case your profile page should happen to disappear.
