I know he had nothing to do with this software glitch, but please do it anyway. Just for kicks and giggles. He’s guilty of something. He had it coming.
When changes like this come up, it’s always difficult to find a thread about it if you don’t happen to be on when the discussion is hot. So, threads pop up all over asking about the changes. I propose either linking a thread like this at the top of the main page,

I've been reading that several people have this problem, so finally decided to check mine. When I click on "You can edit this page," my html code is in the box like always. Hmmm....

Sure it’s not his fault. Who cares? If they can blame Bush for everything, we can blame a lib like Gates for stuff he didn’t do.

My company’s firewall does NOT like your new changes.
Take a look at the FReepathon bar at top of each page:

The whole thing: equipment, bandwidth, electricity, gas for John's car, salaries, legal bills, and cat food (those Viking Kitties eat don't they, or do they just feed on trolls?)
Experience at bazillion dollar companies informs one little about the necessities of running an active project, live, nonstop, for a decade now and ongoing, on a budget that couldn't pay for two of the better people at the big company, sans all else.
Work that is divided across multiple people, groups and departments in the big company is carried around in different parts of the brain of a man named John. It's Jack Bauer, versus an armored division with full support. It's the victims belt, hurriedly re-purposed as a tourniquet, versus an entire M.A.S.H. unit.
You really are dealing with a person here, not with an org chart. What gets done has to fit in the head and gut of that person. The org chart of General Motors has a fundamentally different shape than John's gut. It's not like the difference between a Viking Kitty and an African lion, where one is a miniature version of the other. It's more like the difference between a single Viking Kitty and a pod of whales.
The amazing thing is that John is still going at this full tilt after a decade. Very few people can last that long in such a job and still be fully engaged. Not even Jack Bauer.

Would you care to drop us any hints as to what's happening? Understand that it's rather unlikely that your company's firewall cares one bit about John's changes, but perhaps if we had some clues as to what you're seeing, we can send you off in more useful directions to look for solutions.

I cant explain the problem except to say that it locks up the computer sometimes and didn’t before.
It might just be a cluster-fudge caused by something else.

I like my pings TO people being in green because now I can go back and find the last green post and know where I left off. It’s a tremendous help.
I like the new mods even better than I liked yesterday’s lot. Huge improvement in functionality: my stuff in green, others stuff in black. “Mark all as read” — great. #X of Y — great. It is intuitive and much nicer to use.
