Is that really a naked woman in Dick Cheney's sunglasses?

** EXCERPT **

WASHINGTON — He shot his hunting partner, but Vice President Dick Cheney apparently doesn't fly fish with naked women.

Since Wednesday, the blogosphere has been atwitter over a photograph on the White House Web site of Cheney with a caption that said he was fly-fishing on the Snake River in Idaho.

The photo is a tight shot of Cheney's face sporting dark sunglasses and his trademark grin.

What's stirring all the buzz is the reflection in the vice president's dark glasses. Some thought that the reflection looked like a naked woman and, this being Cheney and this being the Internet Age, they immediately shared that thought with the world.

In a Google search for the words "Dick Cheney" and "sunglasses," 79,300 hits came back at mid-afternoon on Thursday. By 7 p.m., the count was 130,000.

On DemocraticUnderground.com, the discussion starts with this question: "Notice anything ... interesting ... reflected in his sunglasses? Something that has little to do with conventional 'fly-fishing'?"

It wasn't just the blogosphere. On a Web site called sportsshooter.com, dedicated to sports photography, professionals also did a double take and debated the shot on their message board.

"Naked woman??????? That explains his heart problems!!!" noted photographer Jason Frizzelle of Greenville, N.C.

When this first came out yesterday, I went over to the ‘rat underground and they were all saying the reflection was a captive terrorist with a hood over his head. They carried on and on that the only time Cheney smiles is when someone is being tortured. What a bunch of kooks!

I believe that we also have Wertham to “thank” for Albert Gore Junior getting the PMRC congressional hearings.

Albert Gore Junior needed national attention to make a stab at the White House in 1988.

Albert Gore Senior was still alive and probably gave his son some advice.

Way back when Daddy was a Senator, he missed his own “deserved” shot at a Presidential ticket when his fellow Tennessee Senator Estes Kefauver made headlines with congressional hearings into juvenile delinquency. Kefauver got the VP nod.

A portion of this investigation was given over to hearings of improper content in comic books; hearings which led to the creation of the Comic Book Code Authority and the end of “EC Comics” (code was written to prohibit specific words like WEIRD from EC Comic titles).

Flash forward another 20 years from the PMRC hearings and Albert Gore Jr. and his wife and his toking dwi driving son Albert Gore III couldn’t give a damn about pimps and hoes and death rock. They have a new global agenda scare.

The man is a PHONY.

Oh good grief! I’ll bet the Cheney’s can’t wait until they get back home to Wyoming and are out of all this carp!

Mad MAGAZINE went from being a comic book (published by Bill Gaines’ EC Comics) to being a MAGAZINE to escape the Comic Book Code.

It soon shunned advertising too.

Bill Gaines would be disgusted at what it has become.

Here's a larger photo, you can see his arm, and see his hand holding the reel.

as long as it's okay to post pictures of naked women tonight, here is another one that I found. I think I read that her last name is Rorschach. What a babe:

I hope that I don’t get banned for posting something that explicit. maybe I should just report myself now and ask the Mods to remove it.

That one is a chortle ... the figure is obviously turning clockwise and the solution is which direction the shadow of the planted foot is pointing as the raised leg rotates through the arc.

I can distinctley see rod, reel, line and his hand, what a dufus theory.

I can't see how you figure this. At least there is a gestalt "naked lady". That is, I can tell right away how this is seen in the image. I can't pick up a rod, reel, line or hand at all.

The Vice Presidential Outdoors website has the picture along with several others. You can go "Back" to a picture of a hand holding a rod and reel, and I have to suppose this is the origin of the suggestion that this is the image in the glasses, as little sense as it makes.

In fact, I don't think he's even fishing in the subject picture. He's wearing a jacket, and there's another picture of him fishing without one, and his pose is not suggestive at all that he is fishing ... to me.

I tried holding my glasses at arms length to simulate the apparent viewing angle of the photo, and positioning them around a lamp to get a similar pair of images in the lenses. I found that the condition for the relative positioning of the "naked lady" object in the two lenses is fairly restrictive. Note that the image in the far lens is closer in to the nose. In my experiment, this was easily obtained, but only over a small range of angles. My rough results suggest that the object is several feet to Cheney's right, as he stands.

Holy Rotator Batman! You're right (no pun intended). If you concentrate more on her feet, she's rotating counter-clockwise.

Thanks!

If you blink your eyes at the right rate, you can get her to change directions. Start off slowly at first.
