Little if any pressure on prom night anymore. Everybody who's going to do it is already doing it.

Thats so true, and if you tell them not to do it, they will do it anyhow...

She knew some of their parents. And she knew they didn't have a clue.

Oh, really? Surely there aren't any parents left these days who are *that* dumb.

After last year’s prom, Ashlei and her boyfriend spent the night at her mom’s house in the family room in sleeping bags — giving a whole new meaning to the phrase being “off like a prom dress.”

The solution to this, of course, is more classes for kids on how to have sex. That and free condoms.

It is shocking to think that teens are having sex.

The parents didn’t know? Horse feathers. They know, but don’t want to think about it. One evening we were at a neighbor’s house while their teenaged kids were watching a show on ABC Family Network (family??) called Kyle XY. The premise was kind of interesting, sort of sci-fi, but the storyline was atrocious: kids having sex, talking about having sex, parents knowing about all of this and providing condoms (instead of guidance). This was just ONE episode. On a network that calls itself ABC FAMILY.

So any kids watching this cr*pola no doubt think they’re somehow not in fashion if they’re not having sex.

I know I’m older than dirt, but when I was a kid, if I had behaved this way, and my parents found out about it, I’d have been sent off to the convent school to get my priorities straight.

But glorified on a channel that is supposedly for FAMILY? I shudder at the thought.

Daughter’s father to prom date: Do you believe in life after death?

Prom date: Why yes, why do you ask?

Father: Because if you even touch my daughter tonight, your belief in the afterlife will immediately tested.

If any of the girls were under 18, did she turn the photos over to the police?

How about the evidence of underage drinking?

“oh but what will their parents think”

Parents are too busy chasing the $$$$ and their “quality” time consists of teens telling parents what they WANT to hear as they cruise through life doin as THEY PLEASE.

“She was developing pictures last month when she spotted some familiar faces — teenage girls she has known since they were in kindergarten — in an X-rated spring break adventure.”

Now, I realize parents can’t control everything their kids do, as we can’t be everywhere with them, but sending your kids off on a “spring break adventure” is a bad idea. When my kids are that age, I will not be funding or allowing any spring break or poorly chaperoned senior trips. I can’t control these things once they’re of legal age, living elsewhere, and making their own money, but until all of those apply, they’re living by our rules. They may not like me so much for a few years in high school, but I can live with that. Wow, I sound like my parents ... scary.

Ah... Memories of my Senior Prom in '87.

My prom date naked in our hotel room, her dress crumpled on the floor and her nubile body writhing on the bed in sexual gratification.

And me. Down in the hotel lobby, hanging out with my friends.

Good times!

If children are not given moral instruction when very young what makes anyone think they will be moral teenagers?
Notice I said ‘moral instruction’ not the swill of so-called “sex ed”.
Of course when parents themselves have little moral sense there isn’t much to pass on to their children. It’s this kind of parent that posits that there is nothing anyone can do but pass out condoms.

It is amazing how strong the power of denial is. One of my sister’s friends mom found her birth control (which she stopped taking rather than admit why she had it) and caught her on top of her boy friend with her pants undone. Yet, she still managed to think her daughter was perfectly innocent and was shocked when she turned up pregnant.

The need to be your child's FRIEND rather than your child's PARENT is an terrible phenomenon that has somehow inculcated our family culture.

It started with the boomers and now is firmly entrenched in subsequent generations.

I am sure it is only the teenage children of liberals in Blue States that are having sex, getting STD’s and having abortions.
