It was a night filled with anti-corporate protests, anti-Bush comments, folk songs and the president of the Hip-Hop Caucus bellowing about America’s “illegal war” in Iraq. Welcome to the 2nd Annual “Climate Super Rally” featuring NASA’s Dr. James E. Hansen.
“Our addiction to oil has caused millions to be displaced,” liberal activist Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr. said, one of the event’s speakers. “And thousands – close to millions to lose their lives in this illegal war.”
Not exactly typical climate change rhetoric. But Hansen was one of three headliners and his message was designed for the “super rally.” He played to crowd and said the battle was the fossil-fuel industry against “young people and nature.”
Hansen is one of the most-often cited scientists warning about the alleged dangers of climate change. Although he has claimed he was “censored” by NASA, he has been featured repeatedly on network news shows and in The New York Times. Former Vice President Al Gore has referenced Hansen on several occasions, but Gore has also called for a more cooperative approach to the environment – a stance which conflicts with the “super rally.”

Hansen is a socialist goofball. Time to defund NASA, if he’s the kind of animal they put in charge of things there. Get that pig’s head out of the public trough.
It is NOT time to “defund” NASA.
He is a radical kook and even Adminstrator Griffen disagrees with much of what he says.
NASA satellite data looks like it is debunking much of the globalwarmongers anyways.

Someone needs to explain to these kids that they are going to be hungry, cold and on public transportation for the rest of their lives while working as indentured tax slaves if they continue to support the anti-carbon agenda.
I have no idea how to undo the decades of inculcation they have absorbed, though. Perhaps when their parents tell them that they can no longer support them due to the high energy bills, high food prices, losses of financial industry jobs and losses in retirement investments they will have an epiphany. If they have to work for food and rent maybe they will see the light.
Hansen isn’t as insulated as ALgore. Hopefully, he will be forced by climate reality and the inconvenient truths of carbon caps and ethanol to slink under a rock somewhere and shut up.
You can't. None of us can. I have written off most anyone born after 1990 as a bad investment.
I think you will see global warmongers getting quite shrill in the years to come because they will be confronted more and more with facts that conflict with their propaganda, spin and dogma.

Something tells me that this generation will backpedal on this very quickly if anything is ever enacted that really bites them in their pocketbook or lifestyle.
Can’t this putz be fired? Obviously his radical stance has to color his job decisions.
Then the US will be a 3rd world hell-hole in permanent depression long before 2030.
All the money remaining in the economy at that point wouldn't be enough to build even one over-priced, inefficient wind mill.
Hansen is more than a Junk Scientist. I'm convinced he wants to destroy this nation.

I don’t think they can fire Hansen...but as I’ve learned via the Air Force...when you have one colonel who is a problem...you crowd him up with a dozen other new colonels and redefine the original guy’s job. You put the problem guy in a position where he has to compete for funding for lesser projects on his plate. The fact that he’s there to waste time on earthly issues....I’d have a dozen new guys to start programs related interstellar travel, climates on Mars, black holes, meteor issues, etc. Crowd up the Hansen circle so he has a lesser empire.
Hansen should be arrested and tried for treason (or perhaps for crimes against humanity), found guilty, and hanged.
