Wednesday afternoon's shooting comes on the heels of a particularly violent weekend in the city. Between Friday night and early Monday morning, 36 people were shot in Chicago, nine fatally, and two people were stabbed.

Saw this on Fox tonight. They mentioned the shootings were on the south side. They didn’t have to waste their breath with that factoid. It’s pretty much expected.
Well, I would say that Baghdad is a bit safer than that!

Sure looks like the gang violence I saw when I lived in Tampa: a gang north of an interstate vs. a gang to the south. This distribution sure looks like turf war.
Crime is up in Chicago because Obama had to leave Illinois to campaign in the Presidential race. It’s like Superman leaving Metropolis to go battle that bald guy in that crystal ice funky far away place.
Old Man Daley and his old style cops wouldn’t let that happen or if it had would clean out the vipers nest fast.

Gotta ask.. what is the deal with all the shootings in the legs?? Is that some sort of a gang thing or do they just have sucky aim?? ;)
Anyway, all those shootings are really awful.
Most of these shootings are gang related, fighting over turf to secure drug dealing. With over 50,000 gang bangers in the city of Chicago and only 14,000 cops (some of whom are desk jockeys and other assorted non-patrol cops), this isn’t a surprise. By the way, handguns are illegal in Chicago and have been for over 20 years.....hmmm I wonder what they’re shooting each other with?
But, but... They have such strict gun control laws. HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN!!!!

I was balled out by a black bus driver for not getting off his bus in the neighborhood were most of these shootings took place. He thought I was being prejudiced.
A month ago I was coming from visiting someone at the County Jail and was taking the bus to an el station, but was reading and missed my stop.
The driver said that another two miles down there was another el line that I could get on. When we pulled up, it was very dark, two of the corners were vacant lots, some of the buildings were bordered up, and the few people I did see were black, and I am a white and unfamiliar with the neighborhood.
The black driver assured me that I’d be safe, but I just couldn’t exit the bus, and he was very hurt and scolded me so all the other passengers - all black - could hear. I finally convinced him to let me ride with him to the end of the line and then back to my original stop.
I’m wondering how many of these people, both victims and shooters, are minorities?????
I know it isn’t a PC question but I’d make some heavy bets that most are black..
