Illegal immigration costs American taxpayers $346 billion annually and, besides the well-documented areas of education, jail and medical care, the money is being spent on manpower for overwhelmed government agencies. A renowned economist, who has thoroughly researched the impact of illegal immigration and published numerous reports and articles, recently published an alarming alarming book on the subject. In his book, Edwin Rubenstein exposes the GARGANTUAN COSTS of illegal aliens. The book supports previous reports of U.S. employers of illegal aliens raking in billions thanks to the cheap labor while American taxpayers subsidize the ordeal. U.S. prisons are also overwhelmed with illegals with 147,000 illegal aliens in local jails, 74,000 in state prisons and 46,000 in federal prisons. About 28% of all federal prisoners are illegal immigrants, and the cost to taxpayers is about $5.4 billion a year. Many are repeat offenders that get released into communities rather than deported. We had at least two candidates for president, Tancredo and Hunter, who talked about this and look where it got us. Someone here one day told me this issue is barely on the radar of “important issues”.
Personally, I’m mad enough to scream over this. We have been sold out.

As a defeated Tancredo/Hunter supporter, I couldn’t agree more. They were both prophetic on the issue but, tragically, they were both marginalized by the MSM, the ethnocentric pressure groups, business special interest lobbies (U.S. Chamber of Commerce, etc.) that love cheap labor with no basic benefits, and politicians pandering to the Hispanic vote. And what burns my hide is that Tancredo had the best rating by the American Conservative Union. I also blame the RNC and George Bush and Carl Rove who wouldn’t even talk to Tancredo and banned him from the White House. With friends like them who needs liberal enemies?

Until we find a politician or more than one who will stand up for us, this is just pissing in the wind. NOBODY will defend our borders! I don’t get it! Do these idiots think illegals will carry the day for them? What will politicians do when the tax base dries up and most major American cities will be broke? This is already happening. Exactly right. And one of our BASICS is our U.S. Constitution. Article.IV., Section.4., says: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.” Even the open-borders crowd can’t deny it’s a foreign illegal invasion. But the special interest and pressure groups, along with a liberal activist judiciary, choose to ignore or reinterpret the plain English meaning and original intent of these words to advance their own personal agendas.

I have seen federal numbers for illegals held in jail ranging from 19.3% to 27% of the federal prison population.
Here's a sampling of USA cities wanted for murder. What you'll see is that in big USA cities like LA or NYC most of the murderers are Hispanic. Unknown are the % of illegals. In smaller cities the FBI will post the nationalities of the murderers. About 25% of the most wanted are illegals wanted for murder. This number agrees with the percentage of illegals incarcerated in federal prisons. +-25%Pictures of top 10 most wanted in LA. Up until recent stories about crime in LA posted by the LA Times--the pictures included the nationality of the murderers. They were all foreign nationals and mostly Mexican.

There are currently no exact numbers on the number of Americans killed by illegals. Part of the reason is that the government deliberately obscures the number. I talked on the phone with the head of statistics for the US Bureau of Prisons. He said his office wasn't allowed to publish the number of illegal alien murderers. Rather they were forced to put legal and non legal residents in the same category. I talked to ICE. They put out detailed numbers on illegal child molestors. However, they put out nothing on illegal murderers.
Part of the reason for the silence on the matter is that there is evidence to suggest that most Americans being killed by illegals are black--as is the suggestion in this LA Times Article. Also this article from the LA Times. And here. This makes intuitive sense. We see stories regularly of drug gang killings in Mexico but we don't see those same stories in the USA. The reason we don't see those stories is not because its not happening. Rather we don't see the stories about illegals killing blacks because that kind of story is terribly politically incorrect. The populations being displaced in downtown sanctuary cities especially are American blacks. That means that their criminal elements would be pushed aside by Mexican gangs as well. That's also the story that the wanted for murder posters in all the major cities seems to suggest.
Nevertheless, the pattern of non reporting is starting to break. Discovery Channel has a series called Gangland that mentions ethnic cleasing of blacks by Mexican gangs

All that said the true number of criminal aliens is far higher than is revealed by criminal aliens in prisons. One cannot not ignore even with the appearances that communism is dead to see the roots planted under many factions around this globe with the intent and purpose even to those carrying out the model as the compassionate thing to do for humanity. Communism at its base is formulating and instituting the idea to peoples salvation comes from the 'state' and that notion is flourishing as though that old system took root under a different tree.

Thanks for all the information. Yes, I think the PC pretenders try their best to hide the reality but it’s too obvious and affecting too many Americans now to suppress. Lincoln was right when he said you can fool some of the people some of the time but not all the people all the time. Illegal immigration is so massive and catastrophic that it’s degrading our whole culture. If it isn’t soon seriously dealt with the consequences aren’t going to be pleasant to behold.
Right - I think a big part of the story of history is the story of the struggle against various forms of totalitarianism. By the way, I’m now reading and immensely enjoying Joneh Goldberg’s new book, “Liberal Fascism.” I’m learning alot and it’s fascinating how all fascism has its roots in leftist ideology. Even more fascinating is his account of how “happy” or “smiley face” forms of fascism have permeated our society - in ways that are surprising and shocking. Anyway, I won’t turn this into a book review but if you havn’t read it I recommend it!
It looks that way. When a business becomes too powerful and too big it - paradoxically - ceases to be a part of the competitive free market system. I read in Jonah Goldberg’s book that big corporations actually like a lot of regulations and legal complexities. Why? Because such are an economic barrier to small corporations who don’t have the capital and other resources necessary to grow and become competitors! I never thought of that.

This probably sounds odd but it occurred to me that the oil companies could be in favor of the environmental restrictions on drilling because this makes the price go up. I really don’t know as much as I should about the breakdown of all this but the oil companies are the ones reaping windfall profits now.
I suspect neither party is willing or able to do anything about all this at the present time.

When Rudy was running for the Republican nomination he used a, quick, sounds good, throw away line regarding illegals. He said that he wasn't going to take 70,000 kids out of school and throw them on the street.
70,000 kids times $15,000 = $1,050,000,000.
That's over a $Billion a year, every year, for just schooling in one city. I think that my admitted estimate of $15,000 a head for schooling in NYC is on the very low end.

It really hits home when you see it in terms of those numbers. It reminded me of what the late Bill Buckley said when he was asked about the added costs to public education when one added bilingual education to the bill. He said it was a high price to pay for producing students who were “semi-literate in two languages.” Only Buckley could come up with that!

I knew things were bad out there after I read some of those dire statistics in Pat Buchanan’s book “State of Emergency,” in which he made a very convincing case that California was rapidly becoming a Third World state. He also mentioned how productive people were leaving the state because of confiscatory taxes, crime and the illegal alien invasion. I knew Schwarzenegger wasn’t a social conservative but I thought at least he was fiscally responsible. Apparently, he’s now part of that problem. Welcome to Mexifornia! I heard about those tolls on Rush’s program. Are you able or desirous of relocating or are you in one of those increasingly rare civilized enclaves?
