Los Angeles Is a Third World City
The Telegraph ^ | April 24, '08 | staff

A third of immigrants have not graduated from high school and 60 percent do not speak English fluently, the Migration Policy Institute found. These immigrants make up half the Los Angeles workforce. It said this left immigrants ill-equipped to fill California's fastest-growing occupations. The organization said that as the so-called baby boomers reach retirement age, a similar pattern will spread across the U.S. Ernesto Cortes, of the Industrial Area Foundation, a think-tank that specializes on social change said "The question is are we going to be a 21st century city or a Third World city with an elite group on top and most of the city on near poverty wages?" The U.S. Census Bureau last year predicted that by 2050, minorities will account for half the residents across America. In 2000, according to the Census Bureau, whites were in a minority in 262 counties, up from 183 in 1990. Nationally, the number of minorities topped 100 million for the first time in 2006.

I’m serious when I tell you that before I scrolled down to your comments I thought some FReeper had posted some photos of a rebellion in some banana republic. You must be referring to Villaraigosa, Mayor of L.A. Come to think of it, the rebellion has been successful and he is the mayor of a banana republic! As you say, he’s put on a suit and tie and is now a respectable Hillary supporter. I’m sure she’s promised L.A. some foreign aid!

It sounds to me like that’s already happening and all the people who are able are getting out. I’m sure there are still many who are remaining in “safe” cililized enclaves but the smart people know what the future will bring. By the way, how many conservatives beside yourself are in California? Out of a population of 34 million there must be at least a million?!

“Spanish is everywhere - advertisements, public schools, newspapers, retail stores, public safety/emergency announcements, gov’t. websites, etc., etc.”

And I am hearing more and more mariachi music on overhead intercom/piped in music in more and more local stores down here in San Diego. The latest time for me was CVS just up the hill from the Fairmount Home Depot Labor Site.

I really have difficulty internalizing all the horrible facts you’ve enumerated even though I’m aware they’re true. It may sound like hype but I’m convinced that we’re losing what’s been best about America and its highest civilized values. Samuel Huntington, author of the internationally acclaimed “The Clash of Civilizations,” and Harvard professor, said recently “Demographically, socially, and culturally, the reconquista of the Southwest United States ...is well underway.”

26 April 2008

TIJUANA, Mexico (Reuters) - Fifteen Mexican drug gang members were killed in a gun battle near the U.S. border on Saturday, their bodies soaked in blood in the road after one of the deadliest shootouts in Mexico’s three-year-long narco-war.

Rival factions of the local Arellano Felix drug cartel in Tijuana on the Mexico-California border fought each other with rifles and machine guns in the early hours of the morning, police said.......

Across the border from San Diego

Check out the Michigan State Univ. website of the YAF linked above. The MEChA and La Raza crowd took over a pedestrian bridge on campus, and demanded ID’s from the gringos. The funniest part is when they chant “the border crossed us!” And this is in MICHIGAN!

The only value the people in LA have is open borders and political power. They subbordinate everything else to that value, even the prevention of murder.

Where was Jesse Jackson or Al Sharptongue when this kid was killed? Where was the march on City Hall. Where was the uproar in the Times? Nowhere! Because it goes against the open border agenda.

You have 500,000 in the street screaming for services to illegals and nothing when a kid is killed by one of them.

You have a state that's $14 bill in the hole and where the call to cut services to illegals..............nowhere!

So I agree, the battle is over in southern California.

"The question is are we going to be a 21st century city with shared prosperity, or a Third World city with an elite group on top and most on near poverty wages?" he said.

The elite group on top still won't want a Mexican border fence, but they'll have one around their property...

To me, it’s incredible. From what I’ve read and seen on Lou Dobbs’ program the Mexican drug lords and other gangsters are actually invading U.S. territory and shooting at our Border Patrol with high-powered weapons. There was a time when the nation - from the President and Congress down - would have responded to this as an act of war, an armed assault and murder of Americans defending our sovereign territory. Even that liberal Democrat Woodrow Wilson invaded Mexico when they abused American citizens. What’s become of this once fiercely proud and independent nation? It seems that we’ve become wimps and are even too afraid to defend our own territory and our citizens who risk their lives to defend our national sovereignty!

Besides getting control of our border,
The dirty secret is, liberals, conservatives, libertarians, etc, hire illegals for cheap labor.
Until this stops there is no end to the problem.

A truly amazing - and infuriating - video clip! “the borders crossed us.” What borders? The ones Spain made before there was a Mexico? Or perhaps the ones the Aztecs made before there was a Spanish conquest? Maybe we should demand the money back that we paid, and Mexico accepted, for the territory under the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo in 1848. Maybe the Indians - if there are any left - should sue the U.S. government because they were paid too little for Manhattan Island. Give us a break! This is an absurd never-ending journey into the past with a 21st century set of values and opinions!

I know the feeling. Likewise, when I go to Wal*Mart I feel like I’m in downtown Beijing. When Sam Walton started Wal*Mart in Bentonville, Arkansas he said he would only sell products made in America. Those days are gone. With the globalization of industry and commerce we don’t know where the hell anything is grown, manufactured, crafted, marketed, incorporated, etc. One item could have been around the world by the time we purchase it.

” The dirty secret is, liberals, conservatives, libertarians, etc, hire illegals for cheap labor. “

You mean AMERICANS . Americans - in general - have an obsession with getting everything as CHEAPly as they can . I sell vintage drums as a sideline . I’ve had guys who make $ 500,000 a year try to haggle me down $ 25 on a rare vintage drum ! I KNOW dealers who have been haggled with on super rare items by rock stars !

Hi Woim, I think California has no free will and it has already (albeit, not officialy) left the Union by virtue of the fact that Mexico has taken the state over. I think the USA will eventually send it foreign aid when its social and economic infrastructure collapses - which is inevitable and should happen soon. By the way, I don’t think many Americans realize that Madison and Jefferson in the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions of 1798-99 (authored secretly) said that the states could override Congress! And this was a decade AFTER the Constitution was ratified! I think this is the kind of states’ rights you may be referring to. Right?

I know what you mean - you can’t escape it. The worst experience I had was in Puerto Rico on the beach. Spanish music was BLARING away and - I kid you not - the glass on my beach chair was vibrating! I had to leave because it was like being in hell. I later noticed that many people seemed to be hard of hearing and I think the loud music was the reason. But ever since then, I’ve had a phobia of Spanish music. But you’re right - it’s played in so many retail stores today. It makes MUZACK sound like a Brahm’s lullaby!

Exactly right. They feel righteous because they deny the mass of citizens the right to secure the borders with a fence and protect themselves against illegal alien criminals while they live in gated communities and affluent, secure and safe neighborhoods.

As a native of California, a major problem here is the majority of people I know or meet are from other states.
They bring in their attitudes and political agenda and not for the good.

Don’t ever expect logic truth or honesty from these Mexican invaders. Their agenda is reconquista and that includes Michigan.

For Michigan their bullshit will be that they are indigenous to North America and have a right to live anywhere in North America. Indigenous meaning they are mostly Indian or have some Indian blood. Mexican Indian of course. Or are fantasizing about having significant Indian blood. Some claimants have little indigenous blood but have a fantasy to act out in public
