True: Al Gore and his father supposedly polluted the Caney Fork River with their mine.

The river is a tailwater above Center Hill Lake and it’s dam about 50 miles east from my home in Davidson County, TN. The river is stocked with trout, and; many anglers from Nashville and middle TN flyfish on the tailwater.

From Al Gore’s dad’s contacts with Armand Hammer, the Gores received money for many years from a mine on their Carthage,TN property. Al Gore refuses to tell anyone what the H. in his middle name stands for.

Al Gore might be some hollywood types hero, but; we in TN know he is a jerk. Just like PT Barnum hawking a show, and; saying “a sucker is born every minute”, those who buy Al Gore’s BS and his carbon credits are proof that Albert “Hammer” Gore is a con man.

His father was said to be owned by Armand Hammer. I do not buy carbon credits.

One recent TV show on the "little ice age" in Europe tried to explain the apparent contradiction with, "Ironically, the most visible result of global warming may be colder than normal temperatures, as the gulf stream stops flowing due to polar ice melting."

Ironic indeed. World hotter, world colder. World is going to hell one way or the other unless we all give up capitalism now.

So then, are the greenies simply playing defense, as they have led many to believe - or is it we who are being played?

Here's how the Warmist spin is going to finally settle. The message, over the next weeks and months, is going to morph into something like this:

"With this unexpected [I think they'll use a word like this] weather pattern emerging, humanity has been given a GIFT. We've been given time, precious time, to correct the failed Republican mistakes of the past. Over these next 20-30 years, we've got a chance to fully implement carbon reduction, decrease population, switch to ethanol, etc. Now is the time to ramp up our efforts, not dial them down."

They'll also probably find a way to tie in embryonic stem cells, restrictions on guns, abortion, higher taxes, and any other pet liberal causes.

In the future the term “global warmer” will be used as an insult to someone’s intelligence. We should really be archiving everything we can to be used as examples of bad science and bad politics. The left will be deleting everything off the internet it can.

Gotta be careful with that. The tree ring widths don't always match to temperature (rainfall and sunlight are also factors). Over at climateaudit.org, Steve McIntyre has been dissecting the statistics of tree rings for quite some time. Basically what happened in 1998 and 1999 was a guy named Mann and some collaborators found some tree rings that did appear to match up to temperature (Bristlecone pines). So they ran some calculations that repressed the tree rings that didn't match to 20th century temperature and highlighted the ones that did. The result: the famous hockey stick showing temperature steady for 1000 years, then taking off. The essential problem is that the Bristlecone pines are not good proxies for temperature over the long haul as they were affected by local precipitation changes and poor measurement techniques.
