May Day, the communists' day of celebration is a day that the moonbats look forward to every year. This year they were especially thrilled with a flashback to their early days. Fraxinus (BELOW) wore a different style t-shirt this Saturday but from across the intersection, it was a flashbcak to the psychedelic, intoxicating, 60s.
Bringing this thread back to reality, we had another great visitor to our FReep. Frank is a marshall from the Gathering of Eagles events. While not loggin to GoE, he was at the WWII Memorial during that bitter cold, windy March 17, 2007 day. And he has been a marshall at the GoE events ever since, doing a thankless job till now.
THANK YOU to all the marshalls that have to put themselves between the anarchists and the patriots. Our hat is off to you all.
The roll call of our 11 Patriots included Legionnaires Glenn (USMC - WWII), Francis & Dave (Army - WWII), Halsey (USMC - Korea), Frank (Army - Korea), Lurker Bill, Cindy_True_Supporter, Fraxinus, Sensei Ern, Frank (GoE) and myself, [Mr] T. Until Eagle Frank showed up, the Legionnaires were half our numbers.
All Pics by Lurker Bill.
BELOW: With me and Sensei in back ground, the 5 legionnaires: Francis, Halsey, Frank, Dave and Glenn.
BELOW LEFT: Eagle Frank is also a local saying that he'll be back. After showing him where the signs are, we talk a little. The Legionnaires are in the back ground. BELOW RIGHT: Legionnaires with Eagle Frank and me. Being a proverbial small world, Legionnaire Halsey and Eagle Frank know each other.
BELOW LEFT: Sensei Ern, Cindy_True_Supporter and Fraxinus. BELOW RIGHT: Glenn and Eagle Frank.
BELOW: Dave and Sensei Ern.
BELOW:Token moonbats, all 5 of them. Thankfully Lurker Bill's camera does not have a long zoom.
Ooops, maybe I can help a little.
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.
If you live in northern VA and want a short cut to Olney See Post 39 Here. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the American Legion Bridge.
A special Thanks to a FReeper FRiend for enhancing the original plain type directions.
The Archive of Olney FReeps is here or in the LINKS section of Trooprally's ABOUT Page.
WEATHER UPDATES HERE.
[Mr] & [Mrs] T
Missing you guys. Great AAR did not expect less. But, boy is is Sunny and Hot here.
[Mrs T]
It’s late cause I saw your post and had to do a double take. I thought that I forgot to add the Olney Ping List to the ‘alert ping’.
[Mr] T
Oh no - not the psychedelic intoxicating 60’s! Where is Fraxinus’ Peace Through Superior FirePower shirt? LOL
Great pictures Lurker Bill! Good report, Mr. T!
Thanks to Eagle Frank, all those handsome Legionnaires and the rest of you dedicated Patriots! You are awesome! :)
Whew! I thought for a minute there I had missed the “legs”. Had to go back and take a second look. THERE THEY ARE IN THE FIRST PICTURE! LEGS!
Too chilly this weekend though to sport my legs. But still read the AARs - Pleeese!
[Mr] T
I’ve never missed an AAR. I live vicarously through the reports.
At least it was clear for Walter Reed last night. Chilly and windy at times. MOAB never got up because of the gusts.
[Mr] T
One of these day, my dear, you will qualify to be a postman.
I'll just be sure that I don't go postal on the moonbats. Bad PR for FR.
[Mr] T
LOL. Clever.
I was visiting D.C. from Alabama and was staying in a B&B just off of Gold Mine Road and 97. I turned down 108 on my way to Arlington, but we must have driven by before you got started. I wish I had known, I’d have tried to work in a little time to join in my first freep. Anyway, good job - hopefully I’ll get another chance someday...
The health department would not allow the original owners to cook Breakfast-lunch-dinner without a commercial stove, refrigerator, etc.
Imagine having gleaming silver appliances in the kitchen.
[Mr] T
I know what you mean. The current owner has done an outstanding job with it, but he’s ready to retire and has it on the market. I hope the new owners maintain the period charm.
