Seems pretty analogous then.

It doesn’t get her off the hook, per se, it was dumb for her to bring it up, but I don’t think, in this case, that was her intent. She’s not that stupid, no one is... It’s the media shilling for Obama 24x7...

Hilliary may be covering her butt. I have heard jokes more than a few times that if Obama gets popped it will probrably be someone from the Klinton old boy network. Maybe this is a warning to the Klinton mafia not to overstep or maybe she knows something.

to illustrate that anything and everything can happen late in the primary...

It's very easy to see how some might say she is grasping at straws and hoping for her fortunes to change in June. She cites past campaigns as examples and notes how RFK was assassinated in June. I never thought her comment was malicious. It was crass.

It’s not exactly the same, but the fact is, she can still win the popular vote and advance a legitimate argument; namely, he can’t win. She’s won the most important states and most of the biggest states. He has a serious demographics problem. The media is pushing her out. From McCain’s perspective it’s for the better, but I have to be objective, and speaking objectively, she can still win this if she wins the popular vote and superdelegates realize Obama can’t pull off what needs to be done (i.e. win certain states and demographics).

I’ll defend whoever I want. I may not like her, but right is right.

Good grief! She was discussing the history of primaries. What is next? If she mentions Nixon, is she suggesting someone impeach Obama? If she mentions Lincoln, is she suggesting someone should kill him in a theater?

Obama may force me to vote for that despicable weasel McCain. It is frightening to contemplate someone with such a messianic complex in the WH...although...McCain isn’t much better on that account either!

“and how many VPs have gone on to become president lately??
Just one I can think of even remotely recently, Lyndon B. Johnson”

How about George Bush?

When her people are out calling Foxnews the most fair network, you know the MSM has turned on her hardcore.

And I think it’s also true that she would have no issue and be pleased if she could profit from such an event.

Of course she would. They'd stoop at nothing in their quest for power, but they would do it covertly, not this way... Think about it... If she never said it, and he was assassinated, she WOULD be the nominee. No need to say it

Take a step back for a second, and look at it from the perspective that the media's looking for any potential gaffe to clear the field- make everyone else look bad... If they can do this to her, imagine how the GOP will fare...

We can't underestimate how badly the all-powerful media wants HUSSEIN to win.

Every man across the country that is sitting in their living room with their testicles in a closet somewhere in Hillary’s collection is feeling unimaginable joy right now. hehe

she is smart enough to get her name back in MSM pages with this remark.

They are covering her remarks and spinning her remarks, but any press attention at this time is good press attention.

The MSM has become so partisan and powerful, comparisons to the Nazi propoganda machine aren’t that outrageous... I mean it... the ability and desire to craft opinion, in a country several times that of Germany, is mind-boggling.

****************

And yet every leftie I have talked to compares Bush and Cheney to the Nazi propoganda machine.

You guys are selling Hillary short. This is the THIRD time she has said this, starting with Time magazine. This was no slip of the tongue. Clinton's are well known for their bullying tactics. I believe this is simply the latest. No sympathy here for the (former) anointed one.

From the link (Post No. 49):

You’re right, this is the third time she’s said this in the past three months.
Same points each time.

March 6, 2008 interview in TIME magazine:
TIME: Can you envision a point at which—if the race stays this close—Democratic Party elders would step in and say, “This is now hurting the party and whoever will be the nominee in the fall”?

CLINTON: No, I really can’t. I think people have short memories. Primary contests used to last a lot longer. We all remember the great tragedy of Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in June in L.A. My husband didn’t wrap up the nomination in 1992 until June. Having a primary contest go through June is nothing particularly unusual.

May 6, 2008, following the Indiana Primary
“But I also think it’s still early. I mean, everybody is so focused on where we are right now. I guess I remember that in June of 1992, that’s when Bill really wrapped up the nomination, the middle of June after the California primary. You know, I remember very well what happened in the California primary in 1968 as, you know, Senator Kennedy won that primary.”
