I don't know how many of Joel Osteen's flock were thinking of voting for Barack Obama, but I'd like to make sure every last one of them hears this comment from Fr. Michael Pfleger, longtime friend of Obama and one of the Democratic candidate's spiritual mentors:
"Hillary and McCain would wish they had a preacher with the integrity of Jeremiah Wright. … They got some old weak preacher…some old Joel Osteen cotton candy preacher."
Let's just come out and say it — Pfleger is an A-1 jerk [perhaps not the first word that came to mind], and Obama only started objecting to his comments once it started hurting his political ambitions.
The question is, do Osteen's two million weekly viewers and three million book buyers take it personally?
Pfleger said today that he is the victim of hate and of YouTube. He needs six bodyguards to stand outside his church because of death threats. Maybe he should go live with Jeremiah is his gated, white suburban neighborhood.
What’s with Cardinal George? He can’t come up with any stronger discipline that getting Pfleger to promise not to mention political candidates? George may be concerned about losing parishoners at St Sabrina. In the meantime, white suburban Catholics like me will stop funding the archdiocese and George’s Gold Coast mansion.
At least Dick Shawn was an actor, was funny without hating anyone, and didn’t do a “shuck and jive” presentation.
Pfleger is not an actor, is not funny with his hate, and is doing a racist stereotypic portrayal of black clergymen.
What the hell is going on in Chicago, and why did Obama support it for so long? God only knows what he will do if elected president?
3:00 AM The Red Phone rings. Pres. Obama answers it, asking “Who is this?”
Voice on the other end of the phone: “It’s me, the Pfleger-man. I need some good lines for my sermon today. You got any?”
Why can't this Priest's boss fire him, straight away?
The evidence of racist incitement is on the tape of his sermon, what is the hold up?
I assume the Vatican is in charge of all Priests?

I think what is being overlooked with respect to Fr. Pfleger is that he is part of a broader pattern that tells us something alarming about Obama. Obamsa’s relationship with him goes back some 20 years; as it does with Wright, the hate-monger, anti-Semite and racist who preaches bizarre conspiracy theories. And, as does his relationship with Bill Ayers, the unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist; and as does his relationship with the swindler Tony Rezko, who helped Obama in a very dubious real estate deal to acquire his home property. Any one of these relationships could possibly be explained. But, in the AGGREGATE, they clearly present a pattern of unsavory and criminal relationships. Guilt by association? Yes, if the associates are clearly guilty of nefarious conduct and you choose to associate with them.
The Democrat's effort to appeal to Christians with candidates with a Christian face has spun out of control. I doubt if Christians will now vote for Obama because of his Christian background.
Fr. Michael Pfleger must be an example of what Senator Byrd refers to as a White Nigger.

I thought it sounded like a pitiful attempt to channel Martin Lawrence or D.L. Hughley.
There is a community 30 miles from where I live that has been without a parish priest for the last 15 years. I want to recommend to the Archdioscese that Father Pfleger be sent to Cathlamet, Washington, where his ministrations are desperately needed.
It is a mostly ethnic Scandinavian community but I can’t imagine a better place for that poor misguided priest, Father Pfleger. He has definitely been in Chicago too long and needs to become reoriented with what his first priorities as a priest should be. The good people of Cathlamet will help him adjust.
Hopefully he won’t go hog wild over the handful of Hispanics who migrate through occasionally.
I consider them all domestic urban terorists. It is a shame the Feds are too, cowardly to do their jobs.
If men and women in America will not stand up for what is right, then we all suffer.

Pfleger is a bad minstrel act, without blackface. I’d like to know what seminary trained him and what bishop was stupid enough to ordain him. Having said that,like the child molesters,he will continue to practice his despicable acts without fear.

Seriously, I see your point. But on the other hand I have to believe It is in the race baiter's and the race hustlers best interest not to elect a black president. Even as ignorant as their base seems to be, even they would see the hypocrisy. How can the US be racist when we have a black President.
On the flip side, if Obama is elected, every criticism will be called racist. But again in reality how can that be?
I know, I know, we in this country don't deal with honest reality anymore.
I just think there is too much money riding on promoting the idea, for too many people, that this country is racist.
