And now for something completely different. Although this series of tutorial videos on advanced photo editing techniques started several months ago, its recent completion has led to a flurry of comment around the Internet, including an article in this week's Time magazine.
Go to the link, and the first of 10 tutorial in the series will start immediately. Each subsequent video starts right after that, about five minutes for each.
The character "Donnie Hoyle" is a creation of two Ohio comics who wanted to explain photo editing in a uniquely creative way. As "Hoyle" explains Photoshop, his increasingly disordered personal life intrudes and gets woven into the tutorials. The last tutorial ends with a SWAT raid on Donnie's house.
It's hilarious, and you will learn quite a bit about Photoshop.
I was first directed to YSAP right here at FR. It was such a hoot. And my antennae went up when I noticed Donny Hoyles ring on Ebay listed the sellers address as Covington Ky, my hometown. Turns out the real Donny’s office is very close to my wifes shop. There are indeed funny, creative people outside of SF, LA, and NYC.

“cast a reflection” should be “cast a shadow”... The reflection is only slightly more subtle.

LOL Well, as you may guess, the tagline is personal. I grew up in a household where the Christmas wrapping paper was rolled up on the old cardboard rolls or folded and .. saved for eternity. Grocery bags, string .. anything that great aunt so and so ever touched. I'm just trying to overcome the clutter gene, you know?

LOL! My G-Grandma, whom I was blessed to know as she lived to 100, saved every piece of string from every package: butcher, parcel, laundry , you name it. She knotted it together and made balls of it. She was born during Lincolns second term, but everyone in my family still has plenty of her string.
