Red Dawn Returns (Wolverine Remake)
IGN UK ^ | July 9, 2008 | Chris Tilly

Posted on 07/11/2008 6:40:41 AM PDT by tlb

Hot-on-the-heels of news that Darren Aronofsky may be directing MGM's Robocop reboot, the studio has announced plans to remake another '80s feature in the shape of Red Dawn.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Red Eye scribe Carl Ellsworth will pen the script, which will update the story to modern day.

"The tone is going to be very intense, very much keeping in mind the post-9/11 world that we're in," explains Ellsworth.

"As Red Dawn scared the heck out of people in 1984, we feel that the world is kind of already filled with a lot of paranoia and unease, so why not scare the hell out of people again?"

You mean a couple high school kids with AKs couldn’t ambush and defeat the Soviet Army?

A handful of unarmed Polish Jews couldn't hold off the Nazi Army either, eh?

LOL! A fellow I was working with at the time walked into work the morning after taking his kids to see Predator when it first came out in the theatre.

I asked him how the movie was and is it worthwhile going to see.

He said it sucked because who could possibly believe that anybody (let alone an airborne helicopter) can survive a nuclear blast such as the one that the monster crab-faced space alien guy set off at the end of the movie.... Sheesh.

I thrilled to the David Brin novel “The Postman.”

But in the book, the head villain “The General” and his inner circle are genetically-engineered former super-warriors capable of feats that human flesh and bone could not possibly sustain. He’s also a sadistic psycho who castrates all the slaves in his domain. He’s finally done in by an even more advanced model who rules a neighboring palatine who our hero manages to persuade to join the fight. The Kevin Costner movie was actually less goofy in that respect.

I did love those cool sweaters.

Ronald Reagan liked it...that's all you need to know.

Course, the remake will probably give the Mohammedans new ideas...

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE INFORM YOURSELVES! Sheesh. It’s shocking how CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN FREEPERS who ought to be amongst the MOST informed are so many still so clueless.

Fortunately, we on this forum have you to render us cluefull about the alien overlords who control the secret world government under which we all will live in the near future that never seems to get here.

What steps should we be taking right now to overthrow the alien demon gods in charge, or should we just sit back and wait for Jesus to unleash holy hell on their bad alien asses?

He is going to come and help, isn't he?

For the record, I liked Red Dawn and Predator, doesn’t mean I believe that stuff could happen.
Loved LOTR too, doesn’t mean I believe in Hobbits. :-)

From your link...

"On the 13th day of March 2008, a rare "closed door" session was held by the United States House of Representatives. It was only the fourth time in the history of the United States that the House of Representatives closed the doors and met in absolute secrecy. Thus, those who were elected to represent the people of the United States would not allow the people to know what they were meeting about. Furthermore, House Rule XVII, clause 9, forbids the Representatives from revealing what was discussed. The penalty for leaking such information includes loss of seniority, fine, reprimand, censure, or expulsion!"

LOL!

Helloooooo! The government is collapsing, why are you worried about losing seniority, being fined, reprimanded, censured or expelled?!

I still love Red Dawn and I watch it with my kids. Try this: Show Red Dawn to a bunch of 18-20 year olds and watch their faces light up.

I suspect this remake may turn out to be a good old fashion right wing flick. And it’s about time!

“They’d better hurry or Martial Law officials will not allow it’s showing.”

Instead of the Russians and Cubans it will be Homeland Security and the BATFE invading a small Colorado town and throwing the residents into camps.

Yeah.
The orange ones with the large turtlenecks?

The movie was wise to tone down the sci-fi aspect.

No.

He’s not going to come and

“help.”

He’s returning as UTTER AND ULTIMATE CONQUERING KING.

THE KING IS COMING.

LONG LIVE THE RETURN OF THE KING.

However, . . . after 1/3 to 2/3 of the earth’s population has been killed in natural disasters and wars.

Interesting that the puppet masters plan to reduce the world population to 200 million.

I guess you haven’t checked out the Georgia Guidestones, either?

Fine. I won’t bother to look up the link for you.

All good guesses about the “bad guys”

BUT the good guys will appear as “normal” middle-America types who don’t favor such “extreme” right wing things such as free markets, protecting marriage or ending abortion.

The left has learned how to pretend to be Americans for the purpose of misleading Americans.

What steps to take?

WALK CLOSE TO GOD. Encourage others to do so.

The Biblical prophecies will be fulfilled regardless.
