THE HAGUE (Reuters) - The World Court on Wednesday ordered the United States to do everything necessary to ensure five Mexicans on death row are not executed before the court makes a judgment in a dispute between the two countries.
One of the five on death row, Jose Medellin, is due to die on August 5 in Texas.
In 2004 the World Court found in favor of Mexico and ruled the United States had violated international law by failing to inform 51 Mexicans sentenced to death of their right to consular assistance and ordered the cases should be reviewed.

If President Bush allows this "ruling" to be upheld, then we've truly lost our sovereignty. I cannot for the life of me believe that OUR leadership and rule of law comes from Amsterdam and Mexico, and with no end in sight (more of the same with Nobama and/or McShamnesty). What's next? A "world court" ruling that we Americans can no longer eat meat or drive fossil fuel based vehicles? When is this insanity going to end?!

Note to the World Court: “Kiss Off”.

The U.S. is not part of the “World Court”. They’re just blowing bad air and trying to look relevant.

It didn’t work the last time they tried this, I doubt it will work any better this time.

So, where will the World Court be landing their infantry forces in order to compel the United States to obey their ruling?
Galveston?
I trust that the local sheriff’s office acting in conjuction with the Boy Scouts of America will be sufficient to repel any invasion.

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.
Make a statement to Mexico, the World Court and law breakers in these United States.
Complete the sentences.

“If President Bush allows this “ruling” to be upheld...”
Possibly the President will bow to the World Court, but more likely the Supreme Court will bow to the World Court.

Yes, but Bush has shown some respect to the court on this issue, since it involves his beloved Mexico. I wouldn’t be surprised if he asks Texas again to delay the sentences. Hopefully Texas will refuse.
If we start knuckling under to these unelected poofters who have no jurisdiction whatever over our free and sovereign nation, it means that our sovereignty and our Constitution have been seriously compromised—not that SCOTUS hasn’t already compromised them in many of its decisions.

“The World Court on Wednesday ordered the United States...”
Some court in one of the “Surrender Countries” is giving the US of A orders. How do you say “Go Pound Sand” in French, or whatever language they surrender to in the World Court?

I thought the SCOTUS already addressed this issue and there will be no interference carrying out these sentences. The World Court be damned!

Well since the US supreme Court has already ruled that Bush over stepped his authority in this matter as related to the US Constitution. Texas has every right to go ahead and execute this POS on Aug 5th. I hope Texas “executes” it's own right and thumbs it's nose at the “World” Court.

If President Bush allows this ruling to be upheld... Possibly the President will bow to the World Court, but more likely the Supreme Court will bow to the World Court. Didn't this come up a few months ago? Bush agreed with it, but the SC said the states had a right to continue with the executions, or something to that effect. Am I remembering correctly?

...in 2005 U.S. President George W. Bush directed state courts to do so but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in March that Bush had no authority to do this, leading Texas to schedule Medellin's execution for August. the US supreme court was right Bush had no authority to order the executions reviewed or delayed, not to mention that this is gross interference with our national sovereignty! but then again what liberal is really concerned with your safety?

Where does the so-called “World Court” get the stones to claim jusrisdiction over what happens in the US?
Bush needs to make a public speech in which he reminds the US citizenry and the world at large that the US Constitution is the supreme law of the land on US soil, and that the US does not, and will never, recognize the authority of any World Court to make any binding rulings on the United States.
It pains me to realize, however, that such a speech will not be forthcoming.
