Tuesday, July 22, 2008

If they expected us to retire quietly from the scene, the political elite are in for a surprise.

Today I am making some very big announcements.

First, from August 31 to September 2 in Minneapolis, we will host a handful of events that will shake the political establishment. Everything will culminate on Tuesday with the official launch of the Campaign for Liberty at the Rally for the Republic.

The Campaign for Liberty will be the largest organization for peace, freedom, the Constitution, and sound money in American history. It will launch in grand fashion with lots of special guests and - if the early television and print inquiries we've received are any indication - plenty of media attention.

I would like to personally invite you and your family to join me and thousands of others in Minneapolis for these events and send a message to the Republican Party.

Tickets will go on sale for the Rally for the Republic this Friday, July 25 @ 10AM CST. We want this to be an unforgettable day, so we are holding a ticket bomb all day Friday in the tradition of our famous money bombs. How many seats can we sell on the first day?

In patriotic fashion all tickets will cost $17.76, so you can afford to bring the whole family.

This leads me to the second big announcement. After measuring the excitement and enthusiasm, we decided that the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota was just too small to hold you. Therefore, we are making a significant upgrade. The Rally for the Republic will now take place at the Target Center, the largest arena in Minneapolis!

This promises to be the most spirited and provocative political event of the year! We held some very large rallies during the presidential campaign, but I have never attempted anything of this scale before. Its success rests entirely in your hands. Later this week I will announce two internationally renowned musicians as headliners for the Rally for the Republic. We'll also be joined by rock star Aimee Allen, NBC's Tucker Carlson, Barry Goldwater Jr., Gov. Gary Johnson, conservative stalwart Grover Norquist, former Reagan deputy Attorney General Bruce Fein, presidential historian Doug Wead, MTV's Adam Curry, musician Mark Scibilia, and Frank Sinatra impersonator Rick Ellis. Other special guests will be announced soon.

My staff has been working overtime to provide you with three full days of entertainment. Please visit the schedule page of the website and read all about upcoming events. We also have a lodging page to help you find accommodations in Minneapolis.

Together we are taking back our government and restoring the republic. Please join me in Minneapolis to kickoff the Campaign for Liberty and support our Revolution. Can I count on you to be there?

In Liberty,

Ron Paul

P.S. I know that you have done so much already, but with both major party nominees threatening to lead us into bankruptcy at home and more wars abroad, the success of the Rally for the Republic and the launch of the Campaign for Liberty is crucial. Please do what you can to be in Minneapolis August 31 - September 2 and send a loud and clear message of freedom, peace, and prosperity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pol. Adv. Paid for by Committee to Re-Elect Ron Paul --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’re going to have our hands full here with the anarchists and the hippies, we don’t have time for these clowns, too.

There is a time and place for everything, and if Paul pulls crap to stink up the show in St. Paul

What crap? He's not allowed to host his own rally in the name of liberty? Paul has thousands of energetic supporters I think you should stop denigrating these folks because they're the deal-breaker if McCain wants to win the WH he's not allowed to appreciate their efforts and pay them back somehow?

Seriously.

Dude, I'm serious too. His supporters are tenacious and they are not going to hold their noses for McCain or settle for GOP politics as usual.

He had his shot and did not get anywhere the support needed to be a viable candidate, so Ron Paul should grow the hell up, take his ball and go home.

He beat Rudy, Fred, Hunter, Tancredo - and McCain - in primary battles. He raised more money than all of them except for Romney last year - all of it from the grassroots. He actually won Louisiana if it weren't for dirty tricks by the GOP establishment. Paul did not receive fair media coverage, not even from FOX, and the GOP treated him like a leper. If the GOP can embrace out-and-out RINOs like pro-abortion Rudy, then surely they could have acknowledged someone with differentiating foreign policy views.

And his supporters, same deal. Anything like another Ross Perot that sticks us with a Clinton is on their shoulders, should this come down to the wire.

Utter horsefeces. You assume that these people were going to vote for McCain to begin with. They're weren't and they're not going to. If Paul hadn't ran, they would have stayed home or voted their usual 3rd party candidate. Now I'll probably vote for McNut depending on who his VP is, but the GOP needs to listen to Paul and attract his supporters.

Drinking a six packs makes it more likely that a vote will be cast for Ron Paul.

As opposed to drinking moonshine and ethanol for voting for McCain.

His supporters are tenacious

His supporters are racist, truthers, dope heads and wackjobs....But that's OK, as long as they proclaim the banner of liberty. And in so doing elect Obama.

From Wonkette.com

"Tell mom she’ll have to figure out how to program the TiVo herself: The St. Paul Paultardpalooza is moving to the 20,000-seat Target Sports Arena (in Minneapolis). The chances are increasing that more people will come to the “Twin Cities” to celebrate the Ron Paul Revolution than will show up to give a golf clap to GOP nominee John McCain. This is a beautiful development."

Oh my. How funny would it be if Ron Paul's shadow convention was bigger and better than McQueeg's?

Many of Paul's supporters were ordinary folks who have never participated in the political process before. A lot of them, when they heard about Paul, went to their local GOP offices to help out only to be sneered at or turned away.

It's unfortunate that Paul did not denounce the moonbats, racists, and anti-war activists that were exploiting his campaign, but at best these people represented a miniscule fraction of his real support.

Paul has thousands of energetic supporters I think you should stop denigrating these folks because they're the deal-breaker if McCain wants to win the WH he's not allowed to appreciate their efforts and pay them back somehow?" Of course he is "allowed" to hold his own rally anywhere he damn well pleases. And he should be afforded the same respect as the other moonbats who show up. He LOST and he has his panties in a bunch and wants to spoil the show because he did not win. RON PAUL NEEDS TO GROW UP. Seriously. "Dude, I'm serious too. His supporters are tenacious and they are not going to hold their noses for McCain or settle for GOP politics as usual." Then they are no better than anyone who supports Odimbulb. We had the playoffs and they LOST. Now it's time to grow the hell up and make sure Obama doesn't win. He had his shot and did not get anywhere the support needed to be a viable candidate, so Ron Paul should grow the hell up, take his ball and go home. Crying and whining because the big bad media screwed him over is more befitting some San Francisco blissninny than a man who wants to be considered as a viable candidate to run the country. Life isn't always easy or fair. So regroup, and try again next time with a better plan. And his supporters, same deal. Anything like another Ross Perot that sticks us with a Clinton is on their shoulders, should this come down to the wire. "Utter horsefeces. I'm not happy about the GOP either but I'm not going to go to St. Paul and wail like some idiot disenfranchised Emo because Thompson or Tancredo didn't win.

Anyone who sticks us with liberal rather than Paul is a traitor. Are you going to support a liberal?

That is simply not true. I've been to these rallies and there were people from all walks of life. There were a lot of black people too in the crowds. The only pictures of Truthers YOU SEE are the ones the liberal media and GOP establishment WANTS you to see to marginalize Paul - the ones that were NOT at official Paul rallies or events.

Yes. Vote for the non-liberal. You make it sound like you have only two choices.

Or, if you want to support the leftward move of the GOP, you could choose to send them the message that they’ll get your vote even if they tack to the left.

How about not voting for ANY liberal or leftist...regardless of political party?

Or at least waiting-and-seeing who the center-left 2008 presidential candidate with the 'R' next to his name picks as his VP before committing?
