I have been in sackloth and ashes ever since the end of the Republican primary season dwelling on the mess we find ourselves in. Conservatives have watched the Republican nomination process get hijacked from them while they were debating whether our candidate should be socially conservative (Huckabee) vs economically conservative (Romney). Now we have McCain, who has historically proven to be mediocre at best on both sets of issues. His only strength was his view on the Iraq war.
Now that we appear to have turned the corner in Iraq, the whole withdrawal argument may be moot. If things continue this way, McCain will be reducing troop levels and bringing the home if elected president. So what is his candidacy about? If the Iraq war is basically won before the election, what is it that will define his candidacy?
Here's another question - who is McCain's base? Who will work the phones? Who will go door to door during the 72 hour GOTV? Who will organize and fund the 527 groups that can take shots at Obama that he can't (or won't) take himself, ala the Swiftboat Vets? More simply asked - who is passionate about McCain's candidacy?
The answer, to me is, nobody. Sure, a lot of us conservatives and disaffected union democrats will vote for McCain as the lesser of 2 evils, but who will "turn out" the voters? Who will sacrifice time from work and money from their budgets to see that he gets elected?
If I am right, I think that President Barack Hussein Obama will be in office come January, killing our way of life with an overwhelming Democrat Congress. Does anyone have a better answer?
If he picked Tom Coburn somehow you’d claim that you were correct, that he didn’t pick a “conservative” running mate, and that you still aren’t going to vote for him. Why won’t I be surprised.
Although we haven’t heard very much about it, I think Jeremiah Wright, TUCC, and Black Liberation Theology is going to be Obama’s Achille’s heel. That is, if his gigantic ego doesn’t do him in first.
When I read comments of Dems against Obama, Jeremiah Wright and BO’s 20 year membership at TUCC come up again and again.
It defies logic to think that BO was not affected by what Rev. Wright preached from his pulpit.
He will sell us out faster than you can say United Nations.

You are psyching yourself out. If you think you actually share no beliefs with McCain I want to know where you are at on the spectrum because I just haven’t seen that place. McCain has a lifetime 82% ACU rating and yet you share no beliefs (I know, I know: 70-something after 2000, right McCain haters?).
Buck up. Get tough. If everyone is going to act like whiners we WILL lose and you will go down with us. Even if you don’t have a taste for McCain to think Obama is preferable is nuts. The GOP is a party of millions. Compomise is the nature when you deal with such numbers. McCain is just another in a line of candidates the party has nominated. Well qualified, and somewhat more moderated but at least wholly acceptable to anyone not thrilled about B.H.Obama as POTUS.
How the hell can one do that?
One is either passionate or they are not.

Scared, fear and terrified are the words I am hearing and reading regarding the election of obama. Comments on news sites and talk radio callers. Grown men calling into talk radio saying they fear obama. I don’t recall those words used when kerry was running.
kerry disgusted me. obama scares me so, that when I think about him getting elected, I get a quickening feeling in my stomach.

In fact it reflects very poorly on McCain if this is how a McCain supporter comports themselves.
In my view, the very best thing we can hope for is for Obama to look like he has a very wide lead during the last weekend before the election. I'd like to see red state America and the red parts of blue states get scared to death, and toss out the Democrats they sent to Congress two, four, and six years earlier.
I fear McCain and a Democrat Congress far worse than I fear Obama and a Republican Congress.
It appears he's expecting la raza and his moderate liberal buddies to make up the difference from the conservatives that stay home. Newsflash: their going to the ball with someone else.

I favor McCain and oppose Obama because McCain is standing up for national defense and is strong in the war on terror. Obama believes the heroes of the war on Islamic extremism are the anti-war activists who supported him in the primaries, not the troops.

During 2004 I could only find one website made by Democrats that were against Kerry. It was “KerryHatersForKerry.”
They hated Kerry, but hated George Bush even more. It was a pretty comical site and they were so relieved when he lost.
Now I am finding hundreds, I mean, HUNDREDS of websites by Democrats against Obama.
This dude is freaking America out.
I’m not sure if there’s anything he can do to make this better.
The Obama crowd wants to blame it on racism, but it has nothing to do with racism.
Since BO is a man of next to no accomplishments, we can only judge the man by his associations and background.
What those two things say about him are not good for America.
It’s undeniable.
Good speaking ability (with a teleprompter) and trekking all over Europe and the Middle East trying to look Presidential are no small comforts for the very troubling facts we are discovering about Barack Hussein Obama.
