Posted on 07/31/2008 6:20:38 PM PDT by Free ThinkerNY
A slab of North Texas limestone is on track to rock the world, with its two imbedded footprints poised to make a huge impression in scientific and religious circles.
The estimated 140-pound stone was recovered in July 2000 from the bank of a creek that feeds the Paluxy River near Glen Rose, Texas, located about 53 miles south of Fort Worth. The find was made just outside Dinosaur Valley State Park, a popular destination for tourists known for its well-preserved dinosaur tracks and other fossils.
The limestone contains two distinct prints one of a human footprint and one belonging to a dinosaur. The significance of the cement-hard fossil is that it shows the dinosaur print partially over and intersecting the human print.
In other words, the stones impressions indicate that the human stepped first, the dinosaur second. If proven genuine, the artifact would provide evidence that man and dinosaur roamed the Earth at the same time, according to those associated with the find and with its safekeeping. It could potentially toss out the window many commonly held scientific theories on evolution and the history of the world.
Finding scholars and experts on evolution, paleontology or creationism to speak about the discovery proved difficult. Some who were contacted said they didnt want to comment on the prints without a personal inspection or without review of data from scientific tests.
However, Dr. Phillip Murry, a vertebrate paleontology instructor in the Geoscience department of Tarleton State University at Stephenville, Texas, stated in his response to an interview request: There has never been a proven association of dinosaur (prints) with human footprints.
The longtime amateur archeologist who found the fossil thinks that statement is now proven untrue.

I have proof the earth is flat.
Cute. But the human footprint here is anatomically incorrect. The smaller toes don’t splay outward on a human foot, as depicted here.
Someone worked really hard on this forgery. Too bad they don’t know how the bones in the human foot are aligned.
Those footprints look intelligently carved to me. You can see a row of drill holes in the dino footprint.
This hoax has been going on for 50 years. I met the orignal owner of this land and he is a a self promoter. I have seen the prints that they refer to and they are not prints of man...but, if it furthers your cause, promote it, as the owner did to get admission to his “Jurassic park.” The dinosaur prints are real, however...
Getting out the popcorn
Also this type of rock forms in layers and the footprint is going through multiple layers of strata which would be impossible.
“Doctor” Carl Baugh alert!!!
I don’t know about those prints. Do dinosaur footprints really look like that? I don’t really know anything about it. But that dinosaur print looks kinda fishy to me.
well, then I’m anatomically incorrect. My toes splay outward.
It was a busy six days.
Best refutation I’ve ever read at FR! Kudos.
Clearly Fred Flintstone was out walking Dino.
I am not going to argue that this find is genuine and am no expert in the formation of dinosaur prints, but mud does indeed build in seasonal strata that would erode in a similar pattern.
Please expand on that.
and remember Chaka from Land of the Lost? (Sid and Marty Krofft)...
>>Also this type of rock forms in layers and the footprint is going through multiple layers of strata which would be impossible.<<
Well, well, what if he stood there for a REALLY LONG time?
Even if it’s true, it could mean a lot of things...
Cant they check some petrified Saber tooth tiger feces for human remains?
Can’t be ALLOWED to be proven authentic.
So do dino toes.
Entirely within the variety of the human gene possibilities.
“and remember Chaka from Land of the Lost? (Sid and Marty Krofft)...”
How about Beany and Cecil? :^)
> What if it is proven to be authentic?
You seem very hopeful. Sorry to disappoint you, but these sorts of hoaxes have been put forth for decades now.
One saber tooth says to the other - “I’ve heard those things make a lot of different noises, but ‘Yabba Dabba Doo’ is a new one on me”
The dinoraur was really heavy. His prints pushed through multiple layers. The human print was already there and filled in with silt when the dinosaur stepped on it. The man that found it even says he didn’t noticed the human print there untl he started flaking away some of the layers. That’s because the human print was filled in with silt when the dinosaur stepped there.
Just a theory.
I still don’t know if I believe that’s a real dinosaur print though.
Yeah, hoaxes like “piltdown man” are rampant.
Interesting but it looks a bit fake. Wouldn’t be surprised to find out someone is pulling a prank.
There are “other” reasons for both, and you and I both know it.
I’m just asking.
I repeat....I have proof the earth is flat.
“In other words, the stones impressions indicate that the human stepped first, the dinosaur second.”
Looking at the photo, if anything, it shows the ‘human’ print on top of the dinosaur’s.
A big budget Hollywood production (a comedy) of Land of The Lost is coming our way, starring Will Ferrell.
“once you believe, nothing will change your mind.”
Do you believe?
Believe what? man has caused global warming or man walked with dinosaurs?
The only “fossils” found in complete isolation without similar examples or pieces nearby in either life or death assemblages, with only one nearly perfect example known, and that example is so remarkable if true that it would topple centuries of conventional paleontological wisdom, fall neatly into the Piltdown man catagory.
Well then, when you sail around the earth, you will fall off the edge. what is it you don't understand about a flat earth?
Baloney - I’ve been hearing of these things since I was a kid and not one of them have been proven genuine. Heck, I still remember this guy who claimed to have found a gold chain inside a lump of coal. Of course, you had to pay him a fee to see it. lol!
Wonderful looking fossil up there, must be worth a fortune.
Have you ever seen the footprints of someone who went barefoot for their entire lives? Their feet tend to be broader and the toes splayed out.
I humbly ask any Young Earth Creationist to show me the fossil remains of any human in the same rock stratum as a dinosaur.
Surely that is not too hard of a request.
None have done so.
Its just a question.
Well, that just goes to show that men with shoes and dinosaurs walked the Earth together :-)
