Pacific Gas and Electric Co., California's largest investor-owned utility, has contributed $250,000 to defeat a ballot measure that would ban same-sex marriage in the state, it was announced Tuesday. Businesses often steer clear of ballot measures that deal with social issues for fear of alienating customers. But PG&E officials said the San Francisco-based company's effort to defeat Proposition 8 on the Nov. 4 ballot is consistent with its long-time advocacy of equality for all.

Thank you for the well written research post. I was aware that PG&E had tried to behave more responsibly quite a while ago, and about Willie the whore running shakedown artist, but the details of the leftist Rat operations should always be reviewed for clear thinking.
Through the years, I've observed PG&E do all within its power to resist the tyranny of the Dems. They can only do so much; the rest is up to the voter citizens.
Thank you so much for this post!!! Scott used part of your post on his program on centralvalleytalk.com today as an email sent to him. Your research is really appreciated. God Bless.
Glad to have helped; I had hoped to listen to the show but was unable to. What part(s) did he use from that post, if you remember, please?
You could install solar panels and sell some electricity back to PG&E's grid on sunny days. The only other option is to move.
Confused.
What has Proctor and Gamble’s profits, divestations, etc. to do with Pacific Gas & Electric supporting Gay Marriage?
Nothing! I screw up entirely!!! (scowl)
Actually, I didn’t screw up at all!!! It was a test to see if anyone responding to my reply and link was actually going to the link and reading it!!! (smirk)
Time for a really good class action lawsuit.
The thought the “flex your power” ads I’ve heard were ads by the State.
Now that I look, it seems to be run by something called “The Efficiency Partnership.”
About Flex Your Power
Flex Your Power is California’s statewide energy efficiency marketing and outreach campaign. Initiated in 2001, Flex Your Power is a partnership of California’s utilities, residents, businesses, institutions, government agencies and nonprofit organizations working to save energy. The campaign includes a comprehensive website, an electronic newsletter and blog, and educational materials. Flex Your Power has received national and international recognition, including an ENERGY STAR Award for excellence.
The campaign’s primary funding comes from the Public Goods Charge as approved by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), as well as contributing Munis and Partner organizations and companies.
...
The Flex Your Power website is operated under the authority of the “Efficiency Partnership” which is responsible for its original design and content. The site was created for personal and noncommercial use.
Now, who pays that "Public Goods Charge" and under what legal authority did the completely worthless CPUC act in approving such charge?
My understanding is that this charge is added to utility bills and is paid for by the ratepayers.
You mean, it’s not freeeee? Those silly ratepayers—don’t even know when they’re gettin’ fleeced!

Yes! And the class being all the widows and orphan investors!!!
It might as well have stopped right there!!!
Any Republican supporting this GANG-GREEN subtrafuge should be stripped of his/her conservative credentials and be subjected to ridicule until drummed out of public life!!!
I hear ya, SW
Just the term “public-private partnership” makes me cringe.
As to stripping Republicans of their conservative credentials, I believe they dis-robe themselves when they support this destructive nonsense.
I was reading part of Prop 10 the other day. I was appalled by all of the money that they felt they needed to spend for “educating” the masses. This leftist propaganda will continue, big time, all at taxpayer expense.
How can we stop the state from funding nonprofit organizations? Serious question.
I don't really know the answer, but it's certainly worth looking into. You can sue anybody or anything at any time, whether you have a case or not... So sue the bastards!!!
That might slow them down until "the people's attorneys" advise your elected Board of Supervisors in closed session, on how to beat the people's (your) attorneys!!!
How's that for a serious answer???
Thanks! I was afraid you were going to post a series answer, and you know what a can of worms that always opens up!
