Washington, Aug 4 (ANI): Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and their pregnant wives turned up at a Miami fundraiser for presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Barrack Obama on Saturday.

Both the couples attended the orientation at club Set to pledge their support for Obama.

According to reports, the actors also delivered speeches from the stage.

“Jennifer Garner gave the first speech supporting Obama, and she was very witty, clever and funny,” Peoples Magazine quoted a source as saying.

“She was followed by her husband Ben, then Matt Damon. The men gave serious political speeches on how the country needs change,” the source said.

Best of friends, Damon and Affleck made it pretty evident that they are supporting Obama over McCain, as he is a deserving candidate and a man of principles, who would head the country towards righteousness.

“For a lot of reasons, but mostly because I don”t like the path this country’’s on and if McCain is elected we”ll be continuing down that same path,” Damon said, when asked as to why he was supporting Obama.

The stars seemed to be in jolly good moods, and were friendly to all the guests.

Later, the stars left in a Limo to attend a party at Anthony Kennedy Shrivers Miami Beach home. (ANI)

Heh...I saw the new “Get Smart” movie a few last month, and at some point one of the evil bad guy characters laments their plan will cause the death of the Hollywood actors....

The top bad guys says “Yes. What WILL we do without their razor sharp political opinions?”

I loved it. The face, the tone of voice...it was perfect. Worth the price of admission...:)

That’s cool. Me and my hubby, and my neighbor and her hubby, will cancel their votes out.

They are both good actors (Matt Damon in particular) and very talented people. Don’t forget that their Academy Award was not for but acting but for screenwriting.

However, that doesn’t mean that they have any special insight in other areas. They are, of course, like everyone else entitled to their opinion.

The men gave serious political speeches on how the country needs change,” the source said.

That implies that their women's speeches weren't serious. That's SEXISM.

When they open their mouths, I usually end up boycotting them.
I do love the Bourne movies. The only way I would watch another sequel would be if they called it The Bourne 24, and Jack Bauer kicked Jason Bourne's ass.

I just can’t ever get too worked up about someone having a different political philosophy from me. Especially when it is someone like Matt Damon who otherwise seems to be a pretty cool guy.

And being politically outspoken myself, it would feel a little odd trying to silence someone else’s speech when the provide a product I like.

I am a caterer who does a lot of political fundraisers. I've fed W., Cheney, Kerry, Edwards, and next month I'm feeding The One. They have no idea how I stand politically, because I love their business. (I like gouging liberals, too)
Im no Dixie Chick. I want to keep my customers. I'm really a member of the Green Party. If you've got enough Green, I'll throw you a Party.

I agree and if I were to own my own business I would keep my opinions to myself as well. But I can’t bring myself to not use a product or view a movie because I disagree with the people in it.

That said, it doesn’t look like they have insulted people who plan on voting Republican or said anything about being ashamed of the country. I don’t agree with everything the Republican party has done. That others disagree with far more of the platform is nothing new, and certainly within their rights. I don’t have to heed their advice anymore than they have to listen to mine.

That is the Obamabots mantra: McCain is just 4 more years of the Bush agenda. Its working. Of course, Hollywood is in the tank for Obama so Ben and his dLo pal Matt are not a surprise.
