Calling in the Experts: What's up with Obama's Hair?!
Photoshelter Blog ^ | August 5, 2008 | Rachel Hulin

Whoa. My morning news perusal has brought me several stories discussing Obama's hair color, and the very important debate about whether he has a little Revlon secret.

New York Magazine posted two images of Obama from Getty; the one on the left is from July 27th, and the one on the right is from yesterday.

Their synopsis:

"Barack Obama has begun talking about how he's 'going gray' lately, and it's true -- the man's hair is going silver faster than you can say 'Anderson Cooper with a tan.' So fast, in fact, that we have to wonder at the legitimacy of it. Just last month, Obama's longtime barber said he'd never dyed Obama's hair darker -- implying that the candidate's youthful color is stress-resistant.

But within the last week, the candidate has mysteriously gone nearly fully gray.

**snip**

We hate to call the effects of age into question, but doesn't it look like he's dying his hair to look more distinguished?"

My hair stated turning gray in my early 20s-do you suppose dealing with a controlling, demanding, disabled parent at home and a demanding boss at work six days a week had ANYTHING to do with it?Or maybe it is just genetics?

At least he’s not changing his skin color

Well, not yet at least. There's still 10 weeks left!

He wants that distinguished Stalin look, with a touch of Mao.

Maybe he could borrow some skin lightener from Michael Jackson.

Clinton did the absolute same thing when he was running for his first election. Within a year he had gone from brownish colored hair to snow white........all in an effort to make him look "Presidential"

Bubba did the same thing. There isn’t an authentic hair on this man’s head or an authentic thought in his head.

Trite, but true.

From my years of hair-coloring experience (my hair) - if it is colored darker to begin with, it will fade especially from the grey hairs first, and spending a lot of time in the sun + a chlorinated pool, and salt water, will definitely ‘lift’ the darker color from the grey hairs more rapidly than normal shampooing does.

I would believe he was going grey to begin with, colored it in an effort to look younger for some reason, and realized that the grey was more ‘presidential’.

Telling the truth would be more presidential also, but dems have never figured that out.

If it is grayer, it is because of stress. He has shown many symptoms of stress- forgetfulness, crankiness, confusion. My beard went white overnight duirng a very stressful time in my life.

The same thing happened to me in the late 70’s (in my teens). Bad leg/hip injuries and then white hair. It eventually went back to the normal color and is just now starting to “highlight” with gray again.

What's up with Obama's Hair?!
Or is it just covering his swollen head?

As much as I’d prefer not to give Barry the benefit of the doubt about anything, stress and fatigue really do cause gray hair in some folks.

sometimes heavy drug use does too...

Just like the need for judges to overturn laws instead of Congress, libs know they can’t be elected without lying.

My older brother lives out in the country and many years ago he had a yellow dog that roamed freely. One day a neighbor came and told him that he had shot a yellow dog with a high powered rifle. He told my brother that he wasn’t sure because he was shooting at a long distance but he thought he might have shot my brother’s dog. He said he was sorry if that was the case but the dog was chasing his cattle all around so he had to do something before his cattle started dying from the stress.
They went and looked for the dog but could not find it, my brother’s dog didn’t come home so he assumed that it had died in some place where they could not see it. Weeks later the yellow dog showed up with GRAY, almost white, hair and you could clearly see where the rifle bullet had passed through just low enough below the spine that it only broke ribs and not the spine. The wound was about halfway between front and rear legs. The wound had completely healed but the scar was easily visible for the rest of the dog’s life. Nobody has any idea how that dog survived but it was a gray dog from then on.

The color that your daughter dyed her hair, we have always called “waitress black” because so many older ladies who wait tables used to pick this color. Apologies to any older ladies wait staff out there that I have offended.

I even dyed my hair that color once years ago when I started to go gray. Now my hair is a stylish shade I call taupe because I still have about half dark half light.
