Fox news went out on the streets of Denver last night to interview young Obama supporters. The results were predictable. When asked to name any Obama accomplishments ... they couldn't. One said "Ahhh ... the children ... well ..." Then these kids were asked why they supported Obama in the first place. Well, he's young, he has a nice voice, he's handsome and he is a good performer. Remember ... as the Fox reporter said, the only vote many of these kids have ever cast was for American Idol.
Just asking, but are these the same young voters that elected algore and frenchie as presidents?
Most young people come from government run education facilities (public high school), and they happen to think the government can solve all our woes. They know Democrats generally support big government and that Republicans (supposedly) oppose it. They want big government so they vote Democrat. Many also have the idea that the “establishment: doesn’t work for their favor and is only for “adults” and “elites”. Put in Obama and his perceptions in to the mix and they become thrilled about the political process.
Minor Corection - Government Run INDOCTRINATION facilities...
Don’t blame the kids, blame the educations system which has served them so badly
As one of those young people I say you're way off base. As a product of public schools, private school and home schooling, I find the MAJORITY of young people are thoroughly disenchanted with ALL government on ALL levels.
It is easy for the media to present a single side without proper and equal time of opposing views.
Popular-vote democracy is a much overrated idea.
But alas, for many of them, their generalized disenchantment with government translates into a willingness to eagerly support a smooth-talking candidate whose campaign is built around energetic but vague promises of “change”.
It's got a good beat and it's easy to dance to . . .
I just graduated high school. There is obviously disenchantment with the PEOPLE in government, but many of them think the government should run things and see no problem with regulations and high taxes (this begins to change for some when they get jobs and hit reality).

you have no heart. If you are over 30 and are not
a Conservative, you have no brain.”
- Winston Churchill
Interesting points. Let me ask you this (since you’re a young person and at Ground Zero): Is there anything that you believe our young people are FOR, rather than against? Or is this new generation already jaded?
My sons are to the right of Rush Limbaugh and they aren’t afraid to let you know it either.
When he was in the 8th grade he had to write a paper on political parties and he wrote if we have a two party system it should be libertarian and republican.
The stories I could tell you with him debating teachers. LOL!
Well, I’ve never had a heart then...sorry, Winston.
As it should be. Mob rule is an ugly thing.
You underestimate the youth. Smooth talking politicians are never trusted regardless of political affiliation.
>The stories I could tell you with him debating teachers. LOL!
Please, do tell.

I’ll be voting conservative in November.
