It is hard to believe these people find new ways to be useless but, they do each time given the chance.

Tell me what YOU have done to fight government corruption, hotshot, before you belittle Sarah Palin and those who admire her for doing such.

the citizen reprentative of the people

Excellent.

Obama is a rehash of the movie Victor/Victoria: an insider, pretending to be an outsider, trying to be an insider.

I like Palin. Cute, fiesty, conservative. I’m just glad you didn’t compare her short career to the the 2nd best President in US history.

I’m rather impressed at how she went after the old heads in her own party when she was still a relative rookie. I’m not sure I would have done that, it is easy when you’re a rookie to look around you, see the old heavy-weights doing something you don’t approve of, but hesitate to speak up. You’re still trying to learn the ropes, you don’t want to make waves, maybe this is the way things are done.

It takes someone who is firmly rooted in right and wrong, and firmly rooted in who they are to have that kind of clarity that soon and that young.

I am impressed with McCain’s choice of Palin as vp. Its a good choice. I didn’t like McCain, and have struggled with that. But looking at the field, I am changing my view. McCain’s not a perfect man by any measure, but he is the right man for this job. There were men I thought were better choices but they all fell away. I have no doubt McCain is going to irritate me every day for the next four years, and we’ll have to fight him on any number of issues. But I’m becoming convinced that he is the right man for the job.

Obama has done a lot to convince me of that. And Palin confirms it.

Palin has already written a great story of fighting the sloth, entitlement and corruption that we all decry. Unlike us keyboard warriors, she actually did something about it. We’ll see if she can write a few more chapters. Our country could use a thousand of her in this sorry day and age.

"She had broken fingers from working on a fishing boat. She is everywoman."

Harry Truman becomes the Hockey Mom of the new era.

Perfect. Let the Dems fight that!

Great post!

YES!

And great posts in reply!

We can only pray the she is the person we've been waiting for.

(for some reason that has a familiar ring to it but can't quite place it)

I am hoping McCain is the man to transition the GOP to the next generation of young leaders. At least he understood that something has to be done to shake up the current idiocy that infests the fedgov.

I said I like her. I’m just glad you did not compare her to Reagan. You did to Hunter, which was unfortunate, but I’ll forgive you this time.

I am looking forward to finding out more about her. Mark Steyn has a great take on her, here.

So very true, dear marron!

Thank you so very much for sharing your insights!

I agree with you that McCain is the right choice, his decision on Palin confirms it. He plays chess, not checkers. But we'll have to keep the pressure on him because he is indeed a maverick.

Sorry, but Hunter pales in comparison to Palin. Hunter existed in a safe district. Palin took on the corrupt state GOP and beat them AND a former Dem governor statewide. Palin has passed ethics reform and took an oil tax windfall and returned it to the state taxpayers.

You don’t want to go down this road. Trust me. I know I don’t.

I like Hunter. Think he’s a great guy. But he ran in a safe district and never got traction outside that district. And now his son is running for his seat, which IMO is just more of the same DC nepotism. Palin won the governorship on her own, no safe seat, and against both parties. That takes stones and a drive to change things for the better.

Thanks. The more I reflect on Palin, the more I think she is a model for what this country needs. The overeducated and over-experienced pinheads have run this country into the ground with their corrupt sense of entitlement. Palin seems to be an Untouchable. I hope that impression holds. And that we return to an age of citizen government.

The comparison between the two is like nails on a chalk board. I’ll leave it that.
