ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

As another Freeper said, Palin wants to kill taxes and raise babies, and Obam wants to raise taxes and kill babies.

That's good Mr. Silverback. I already heard some joker on my local radio station joking (hopefully) that all Sarah Palin has to do now is to encourage her daughter to abort the baby and millions of Democrats will cross party lines to vote for McCain/Palin, and both mother and daughter will become cultural heroes to every liberal and leftist in America.

Absolutely NOT! This changes nothing as far as I’m concerned. It’s a family matter that is none of my business.

A lot of us women have or have had teen age daughters. They’d better stay away from insinuating that we are bad parents because our daughters make mistake .... ‘cause they all do.

I don’t think so, because Palin has asked the media to respect her daughter’s privacy, and they better do it.
This will never cause evangelicals to stop getting excited over her on the ticket.
I think many Rinos, and libs in the media do not quite understand the Christian conservative voter.

“At least this baby isn’t going to be aborted like Obama said he would do to his grandchildren.”

Good point. Her daughter knows she has the love and support of her family. Sarah and her husband will make great grandparents.

“What would Obama do?”

Abort?

Yes, but wait for the baby to be born first.

Relax, bucko. It was just posted within the hour. I've been defending McCain's choice of Palin on another thread.

So McCain knew about the pregnancy and still choose Palin. McCain has pulled one of the royal boners of all time --- a first class blunder. It will cost him dearly with many voters.

She became pregnant and then married without telling us (she was living 2000 miles away at the time). It was the source of about 18-months of bitterness, since she seemed to want me to tell her it was perfectly OK behavior, and I would not.

It sounds like your daughter was trying to do the right thing. Did she plan to get pregnant? Once the horse is out the barn door, I don't think you can change what happened...

I, too, was pregnant at 20 and married the dad in an attempt to do the right thing...which was my biggest mistake, but in theory, it should have been the right thing to do. My dad was disappointed with me and didn't talk to me for about a week after he found out I was pregnant (my jr. year of college), but after that, there was only support and acceptance.

The Obama camp got wind of a pregnancy and fueled the lies that followed. Now the Left is crucifying the Palin’s on family values, of which the Left has none. They couldn’t be more hypocritical and vile if they tried!

So, Bristol became pregnant? It happens and there’s a darn thing a parent can do to control what their children do if they aren’t right under their nose. Bristol and her boyfriend are getting married, having the baby and doing the right thing. That’s more along the lines of family values than the example Loony Left sets.

I think the smart and graceful thing is to “decline to accept” the nomination. Allow a new (better vetted?) candidate to step up. After all, Sarah Palin has a lot on her plate: A son going to Iraq. A pregnant and unwed daughter. A newborn infant. She might be smart to not accept the nomination. QUickly.

I didn’t realize this guy was anti McCain until now. It is getting old.

In a strange way...things like this may end up being strengths for a candidate. I think she can speak reams about teenage pregancy now that she has a daughter pregnant.

In fact, I’d love for it to be a question posed to her.

Starting now, as far as I’m concerned there are two groups of FRs. YOu’re either behind our candidates or your against them. You’re either positive or your negative.

I don’t really see at this point any point to bashing our candidates. In essence you’re showing support for Obama.

If you want Barr..then vote for him...and leave the rest of us to support Mac and Sarah.

I agree - Obama is very, very bad news.

The Palin daughter is doing the right thing. Obama is on record saying he’d want his daughter’s kid aborted. That will be a very inconvenient comment to have made as we watch the grandchild grow up. Too bad it won’t be apparent in time for the election, though.

If the election turns on this, then America is far more screwed up than even I think. A country that elects Obama is in deep, deep trouble.

Love the headline. She “Admits” it.... as if people thought Bristol was pregnant and Palin finally admitted it. Idiots.
