ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

This could be used against Obama. Barry stated that if one of his daughters was pregnant he would not want them held back by a bad decision to keep the baby.

It sounds like you were looking for an excuse to blow off McCain. Do you really think McCain should have said “This is my nominee for VP, and by the way her daughter is pregnant, Sarah Palin”? Her reaction made me like her even more, she loves her kids unconditionally, she didn’t hide her away, she dealt lovingly with it. No one wants their 17 year old to end up pregnant, but if I were in that position, I think I would be doing the same thing. I say babies are a gift from God, take care of and love that gift, this is something the Palin’s are obviously doing.

n today’s age of hyper sexuality this is no surprise....young hormones have a mind of their own sometimes regardless of the parent's intent.

I wouldn't try to justify the daughter's behavior. What happened was wrong. a one time error in judgement, parents not paying attention, etc....whatever, it happened.

The most important thing is that this young woman and man are going to do the right thing and get married to provide for the child what it needs most, a mother and father that are committed to raising it. This will be difficult for the mother and father but it isn't anything that hasn't happened to anyone else.

Another prediction: the MSM will go to Sara's daughter's friends to find out if they can get someone to tell them that she was loose and a whore. The left is so evil and unGodly and will stop at nothing to get their culture of death stamped firm on America. They are not "misguided" but from their father, the devil.

WAIT A MINUTE HERE!!!!!! ** yes I am yelling there**

One of the most qualified leaders in the Old Testament, David, sinned! Committed adultery, and then had the husband of the one he had the afair murdered! God called David " A man after my own heart"!
WHY? because David repented and wasn't afraid to admit " I am the man"!!
The difference here is in the ATTITUDE towards the sin!
Obama would create a second sin... " kill the kid" and " cover up"... I see openness and honesty here. That will go a LONG way right now with the American people. McCain~ Palin 08

As has been reported, McCain knew all about this and it didn’t bother him. I’ve had plenty of disagreement with McCain over the years, but, with the exception of amnesty, he is very adept at knowing how things will play to the public.

This is a PRIVATE family matter, if the left thinks that a president screwing interns and LYING about it under oath is private then surely this is.

I don’t know if Palin was the best choice. I do think that her being a woman played into why she was picked.

I think there were other equally good candidates (some that I think would have been better) that didn’t have as many problems that Palin brings to the ticket. Palin has the trouble with the state trooper following her around and now the issue with her daughter.

I’m not saying Palin is doing anything wrong. I just know other people do not have this issues attached to them.

I agree, this will fade. Maybe surface again when the child is born but it will not be a negative because: The Palin's daughter kept her baby and did not abort it, like so many liberals believe is okay...like Obama would have his daughters do. The fact that this has been brought out early, and not kept hidden is a plus for the GOP ticket. This was not a National Enquirer scoop like the Dems have done to them because they lie to and fraud the public on such issues. Although it isn't the greatest of situations, I am sure the family is dealing well with this, facing the issue front on, and the family has a right to their decisions and privacy. Let's see if the Dems believe it to be "a personal matter," as they continually said (and say) about Bill's behavior, or if they excuse it as a "mistake," like they did with Jesse Jackon's philandering. Will the Dems allow that the same rule should apply to the Palin's daughter? You can bet they won't.

I heard that McCain knew this before he picked Sarah Palin, and I give them both credit for coming forth with this news early on. Again, it is not the best...but this happens in the best of families and keeping the child is more admirable than aborting a life, no matter how inconvenient Liberals might think that could be. Remember, last year...one of the top movies that Liberals loved was the one about the teen-age girl from a stable, loving family who announced that she was pregnant. Liberals and media critics touted the film as "wonderfully inspiring." I can't remember the name, but it was a big hit.

OMG! Well, this might please pro-life social conservatives, but I expect many Evangelicals won’t be voting for McCain.

I have to disagree with you.

There are parents from all walk of life who have raised their children with good moral values. We are all human, and we all have faults .Most of the voting public has had to deal with these faults themselves, even though we hope we wouldn't.It is how you handle them after they arise, that shows the character of the person.I believe the vast majority of those who were going to vote for McCain before this announcement, will still do so.

My question was what should she say when she resigns as you believe she should? I’m anxious to hear a response that will help the situation even one iota.

Here's what the McCain camp said:

A senior McCain campaign official said the McCain camp was appalled that these rumors had not only been spread around liberal blog sites and partisan Democrats, but also were the subject of heightened interest from mainstream news media.

"The despicable rumors that have been spread by liberal blogs, some even with Barack Obama's name in them, is a real anchor around the Democratic ticket, pulling them down in the mud in a way that certainly juxtaposes themselves against their 'campaign of change,'" a senior aide said.

I wonder if the smart and graceful thing to do is “decline” to accept the nomination.

I'm sure that's a Change Obama can Hope for.

If some Evangelicals get in a snit over this, my attitude will be that some people are more difficult to keep happy than they are worth. Screw 'em

yes i did compare it to Biden’s son, Palin is his counterpart, and the point is this “trouble” is nothing compared to criminal activity.

“Conservatives have made family values an issue. This doesn’t help matters.”

Family values = bringing a child alive into the world. Otherwise there are no families to have values.
Unplanned pregnancy happen in the real world, even to the “best” of people.

Ah, that’s a nice pic of Jenna. Both the girls went from party chicks to nice respectable young ladies. What a difference.
Remember, Jenna was even arrested for buying liquor with a fake ID.

THE DEMOCRATS BETTER NOT SAY A F-----G THING!!! When Clinton was getting his Lewinsky's, all the Democrats said, MOVE ON!!! It's only sex! The Democrats better keep their mouths shut on this!

Liberals think they can say whatever they want. They have no values or morals so they are immune from anything and everything. I can hear the cackling and the laughter by the leftists already.

“I agree. let’s start some kind of baby shower gift for her. show our support for choosing life.

I’m on board. Show the Left how Conservatives handle news like this, we celebrate life, show support for the mother and shower them with love. “

Sign me up!! I am going to head for the ‘net to see if she already has a registry somewhere. Please let me know if it will be done “officially”, as I would be happy to send TWO gifts!
